Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Sandy is being fostered in Southeast PA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Story
FENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Meet Strider, a lovely 7-year-old male Rough Collie with a beautiful coat to match his beautiful disposition. Strider is gentle, affectionate, and carries himself with the quiet confidence that comes from maturity and kindness. He has an intelligent, thoughtful nature and a strong willingness to learn, making him an excellent candidate for a therapy dog or a devoted companion for someone who values connection and calm presence. Strider is the kind of dog who seems to understand your emotions, offering comfort with a soft gaze or a steady presence by your side. He enjoys human companionship and thrives when he feels included and loved. His manners and eagerness to please make him a joy to have in the home, whether you’re enjoying peaceful evenings or leisurely walks. Strider came from a loving home but sadly, his medical and activity levels were not fulfilled. He is just finishing up his heartworm treatment after powering through like a champ and is ready for his new furever home. He has some slight mobility issues, can do stairs but would prefer shorter walks. What he lacks in that department, he more than makes up for it in companionship and love. With his handsome looks, loyal heart, and gentle soul, Strider will truly stride right into your heart and make himself at home forever. Strider is being fostered in GA (Atlanta area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if JoJo is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
FENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Here is his STORY: Andy is a 7-month-old sable and white rough Collie boy with a heart as big and fluffy as his coat. According to his foster Mom, this kid is soooo snuggly. If you’re sitting, Andy would like to be touching you. If you’re standing, he’s happy to remind you that sitting is better. Andy absolutely adores people and other dogs. He is playful, social, and loves having canine friends to romp with. In true Collie fashion, Andy can be a bit of an alarm barker and will let you know about new things or sudden noises, but he settles once he understands everything is okay. Andy is very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. He already tolerates grooming well, is crate trained, and is learning the leash. He is not totally convinced that leash walks are his favorite thing yet and may occasionally protest by plopping down, but he’s young and figuring it out. For this reason, Andy might benefit with a fenced in yard. Overall, Andy is a sweet, affectionate and playful boy who wants to be part of the action and part of your heart. He would thrive in a home ready to continue his training, enjoy his cuddles, and appreciate his gentle, sweet ways. If Andy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Meet Daphne, a one-year-old tri-colored smooth Collie with the grace and beauty of true royalty. Though her young life has been spent outside in a fenced yard, Daphne’s gentle heart and noble spirit shine through. She is a princess waiting for her castle, a Cinderella ready to step into her happily ever after. Daphne longs for a family who will cherish her, guide her, and show her the warmth of life inside a home. She deserves soft beds instead of cold ground, kind hands instead of loneliness, and a loving kingdom where she will always belong. Daphne will need a patient adopter willing to give her the guidance she needs to find the true Collie spirit that we know is inside of her. A confident canine sibling would be ideal. She is currently under the expert guidance of one of our most experienced puppy foster mom who is also taking her to training. Here she will get exposed to more that life has to offer in hopes of building her confidence. We prefer to adopt Daphne as a work in progress so if you are ready to give Daphne a fairytale ending with her happily ever after come true please submit your adoption application to discuss her needs.
