Story
Wrangler is an old soul in a puppy’s body. It’s easy to forget that Wrangler is such a young dog - he’s so well-behaved, dutiful at going potty outside, and settled into his cozy ways. Yet, he has that adorable puppy face, breath, and energy to remind us he has a lifetime of his affection, snuggles, and sweetness ahead of him! Wrangler is cautious to get to know someone at first, but just long enough to deem them safe, and then it’s off to the races with his affection! Wrangler is easy to build a friendship with, whether you’re human or canine. Wrangler thrives being with other dogs and jumps right in with their play, regardless of their size. He even loves his cat friends too! In fact, he loves playing with cats so much that he wishes they loved him more. He is very patient with young children too and seems to enjoy their curiosity and affection. Wrangler is a world class snuggler! If his humans sit down, he takes that as an invitation to sit right on top of them! Empty lap? Not anymore! His affection knows no bounds. This pup is out to bring peace and happiness to his humans. He picks his favorite humans and follows them everywhere! All of Wrangler’s snuggles and lie abouts aside, his puppy energy comes out at just the right times. His outdoor romps and indoor play sessions are evidence of his age (and perhaps his lineage) as he bounces around lithely on his feet and bounds around playing with his toys, dog friends, and humans. Wrangler is clearly intelligent. He is eager to learn and picks up on tasks and routines quickly. He is bright, alert, and perceptive. Bring on learning new tricks! If Wrangler were a human, his fosters think his hobbies would include reading and tennis. He’s a great balance of smarts, relaxation, sweetness, and fun!

Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Story
FENCE PREFERRED Sam I am Sam. Yes, that Sam. Sam I am, and I am sensational! If you were to look up “Collie” in the dictionary, I’m fairly certain you’d find my picture smiling back at you. I am a sable and white rough collie born in 2018, right at that perfect age where life experience meets joyful energy. I love dogs, cats, kids, and people of all kinds. If you have a heartbeat and a kind spirit, we’ll probably get along just fine. I am a true gentleman of the house: fully housebroken, leash trained, and perfectly capable of relaxing without a crate, because honestly, I know how to behave. I am always ready for an adventure and would happily hike miles in any direction with you, tail wagging and heart full. I do ask for a fenced yard, not because I’m naughty, but because my enthusiasm for life can sometimes get the better of me and I believe it’s better to be safe than sorry. At this stage in my life, I’m confident, affectionate, and at my absolute peak, ready to be someone’s loyal companion, trail buddy, and best friend. If Sam strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if JoJo is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
FENCE PREFERRED Grace arrived at Tri-State Collie Rescue through no fault of her own, the kind of twist in life that simply asks for a softer landing and a kinder next chapter. At just seven years old, this white factored sable-headed Rough Collie carries herself with a quiet elegance that perfectly suits her name. She does not rush the room or demand the spotlight; she glides into your heart instead, steady and sincere, with the kind of beauty that reveals itself more deeply the longer you look. Don’t let her age fool you, Grace can still show us her spunk and loves a good romp with her foster brothers, both Collies. While she is accepting of her foster brothers Grace would prefer to live life where she gets all of your attention..what diva wouldn’t?! Grace is a gentle soul stepping into a brand-new life, and she’s hoping for someone with the patience to let her unfold at her own pace. She’s not complicated, not dramatic, just a lovely girl who wants what most of us want: to feel safe, to be cherished, and to know she belongs. With time, understanding, and a calm home, Grace promises to blossom into a devoted companion, the kind that rests quietly at your side and makes the house feel warmer simply by being there. If you believe love can be steady, graceful, and deeply rewarding, Grace may be the dog you have been waiting for. She’s ready for her forever home, ready to be someone’s beautiful constant, and ready to give her heart to the person willing to give her one in return. If Grace strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
6 FOOT FENCE REQUIRED Say hello to Kelly, a beautiful sable and white petite Collie/Sheltie mix. Kelly has piercing amber eyes that will follow every move you make. Kelly comes with a gentle soul and a heart full of potential. At just about two years old, Kelly is still discovering the world and figuring out where she fits in it. Life has not given her a lot of experiences yet, but what she lacks in confidence she makes up for in sweetness and quiet devotion. Kelly is shy and a bit skittish in new situations, so she’ll need a securely fenced yard where she can feel safe and learn at her own pace. She would truly blossom with a confident, well-adjusted canine companion to show her the ropes and help her grow mentally and emotionally. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Kelly will reward her person with loyalty, sensitivity, and a deep bond that only a thoughtful dog like her can offer. She knows her person is out there, someone who will see past her uncertainty and recognize the incredible dog she is becoming. If you are looking for a gentle companion and have the time and heart to help a young collie build confidence, Kelly is ready to begin that journey with you.
