Story
Maggie is a spritely, sassy super senior! Happy to mix it up with her foster pack and enjoys long walks. She can catch and fetch a ball (unusual for our Collie friends) and hop into the back of an SUV without issue. Maggie likes to let everyone know who’s the boss and who could blame her – she has earned that right! She can be vocal and opinionated but affectionate and calm and likes to let you know if you’re not paying her enough attention. Maggie enjoys keeping her people in sight and if you don’t know where she is, she’s probably lying quietly behind you. This gorgeous light mahogany gal acts much younger than her 10 years and does have some arthritis setting in but it surely does not slow her down. She gets on with other dogs and truly loves everyone. An owner surrender who could no longer keep her due to their serious health challenges, Maggie was very loved and well cared for and it shows. Maggie is being fostered in Georgia If Maggie strikes your fancy and you are ready to give her a soft landing to continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Maggie isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED So many good things to say about this handsome youngster! Marshall is a people dog. A big lover and very playful. There is not a mean bone in this boy’s body. Working on his lessons to become a good Collie citizen he knows sit and he is working on a down (lay down). Marshall LOVES to play so an active family/owner would be a good choice for him. As he is very active, older children willing to play ball or fetch with him would be great to help his energy level. A fence would really be in his best interest so that he has the freedom to run and play. He is good with cats and other dogs as well. Another dog pal would be a bonus for Marshall or frequent dog play dates as an alternative. He is still learning to walk property on a leash with a collar and harness but we feel that will happen soon for him…he is a Collie after all and we all know how smart they are! If Marshall strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Marshall isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
Cathi, the sweet tri-colored rough collie, remains waiting for a forever home that seems to be passing her by. Despite her loving nature, gentle soul, and stunning coat, she's been overlooked. Cathi wants to be the only dog. However, in return she will give you all her snuggles and love! She came into our program due to her previous owner’s health and no fault of her own. Cathi is a bit on the pudgy side (more to love?) but don’t judge this beautiful creature based on superficial flaws. Cathi's heart is pure, her spirit is gentle, and her love is unconditional. Yet, she remains alone, waiting for someone to see beyond her imperfections and cherish her true beauty. Will you be the one to give Cathi a second chance?. If Cathi strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Cath isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
Oz has come so far since coming into our program thanks to hard work of his loving foster. Who better to describe this wonderful boy: “Oz walks on a treadmill for exercise in addition to walks. Follows a golf cart/side by side. He doesn’t have issues with older kids. He will stay away if he doesn’t want to be bothered. Toddlers might be too much for Oz.Will avoid a situation if possible. If not, he will submit. Oz is a sweet boy that will play fetch. He also self entertains himself playing with his toys. He enjoys swimming in the lake. Oz also listens very well. He walks on a leash respectfully and off leash. Rides in vehicles just fine. He is a back of the pack dog which means he is an alerter and a little sensitive. Will bark to let you know if he is not comfortable with you. He tends to gravitate to the person that spends the most time with him. He needs someone that will give him space and when he is ready for affection, he will let you know. Oz is shy at first but once attached, he is very loving and loyal. He is afraid of men but will tolerate them. Very gentle taking food. Eats very slow. He doesn’t go on furniture but if invited probably would. Likes to chill in the yard and watch the pasture. Oz is an amazing collie looking for the right match for him.” Oz is being fostered in Ohio If Oz strikes your fancy and you are ready to give him a soft landing to continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Story
Howdy from Bocephus! Bocephus was found on Saint James Rd in Waldo back in December. He is sweet and gentle and loves treats. He does want to inspect trash cans, so hide your trash at home or put a lid on it. Bo is believed to be a Border Collie mix weighing 42 pounds, though he should weigh closer to 50. Based on his teeth, we are guessing he is 4-6 years old. Bocephus seems to get along well with other dogs when he’s out of his kennel! He had a meet and greet a while back but the adopters decided it wasn’t the right time for another dog. Come say hi to this sad boy and offer him the fresh start he deserves! Any kids or dogs at home must come in for a meet and greet. We can cat test upon request.

Story
Colt is an active dog who would love to find a yard to run around in or a job to keep him busy. He would not make a good apartment dog. We think he’s pretty young…maybe a year old? He was found on Lawrence Ave with a female dog who is currently doing a trial adoption! We know Colt is beautiful, but please don’t let that be the only reason you adopt him. He’s gonna need some daily exercise to stay out of trouble! If you’d like to foster or adopt Colt, let us know! Any kids or dogs in the home need to come meet him.
