Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Freedom could not come soon enough for Lance. Languishing on the end of a heavy chain, forced in to a place he neither liked or understood. Lance was surrendered to a veterinarian because he would not work the farm. But as Collies are such a resilient lot, he shed his old self. He was rescued. Lance knew that his life was just beginning when he jumped into our wonderful volunteer’s vehicle. We do all the easy stuff~ vetting, grooming, transporting. Then the foster takes over. Their job is to get Lance (and all our dogs) ready to be loved. And that is where you come in....Lance deserves to know love and kindness. He needs your patient heart and kind hands. Give him that chance he so deserves. You will never regret it, and neither shall Lance.... Lance will also need a confident canine companion to help him to continue to learn about trust, love and of course cuddles. We see this often in rescue and they always amaze us with their perseverance. He will also require a physical fence to keep him safe. If Lance strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Lance is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Lance is being fostered in Ohio (Columbus area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Gracie Mae truly embodies the quintessential Collie gal. Refined and dignified in every way. Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Story
Maxwell came to us from a wonderful home. Sadly, his owner passed away and the family entrusted us to find him another excellent home. This youngster will be a delight for the right adopter. Young and exuberant, Maxwell just needs finishing to help him become the amazing Collie citizen we know he has in him. A sweet boy who loves to play with other dogs. Another canine sibling would be perfect, ideally a confident and playful dog to show him the ropes. Maxwell has never met a stranger and just loves everyone he meets. He will need an active adopter to harness his young boy energy. A quick study, he is working on his leash manners but should have that nailed in no time! Kids are fine but due to his size, older, dog savvy kiddos would be best for Maxwell. If Maxwell strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
FENCE REQUIRED Savannah is an absolute joy. She is kind, loving, playful, and makes fast friends bonding quickly with her foster siblings, old and young! She is great at meeting new people, too. Because of this, she has excellent potential to be a therapy dog (no guarantees, of course). She is mature for her age, making positive choices when given the opportunity. Savannah loves running on the beach, playing with you or other pups, snuggles, belly rubs, and sleeping with you on the couch or in bed. She will make an amazing addition to any family. Savannah loves playing with her youngest foster sibling. She plays actively but appropriately. She also enjoys playing with her foster’s 9-year-old female and does so in a different way which is gentler and more appropriate for her. She would fit in well with either a younger or older dog, but would benefit greatly by having another dog in the house. Savannah has done very well walking with her two Collie foster siblings, 5 and 9. She has been walked through town and the college campus. She has heard every noise and distraction imaginable and might show some surprise at times, but not fear. Her foster pawrents have tried taking her on a walk by herself, but she is not yet comfortable doing that. Savannah is currently learning basic commands and doing well. She is eager to please. She likes treats, but is not overly food motivated. Savannah is an absolutely wonderful puppy. We are very impressed with her temperament and behavior. She will add joy and love to any family lucky enough to adopt her!
