Story
Who’s a pretty girl?! This pup, of course! If you haven’t met this stunner yet, you’re certainly missing out. Mabel is a wonderful young dog hailing from the streets of Olmos Park. Sadly, she was dumped with her brother, Dipper, before they were rescued by some friends of SNIPSA. And who woulda thought someone would abandon these precious kiddos? They are as sweet as can be despite their experiences. Wherever they came from, they must have been well-socialized! Mabel is incredibly easygoing and adjusts well to new situations. She is a friend to everyone she meets, from humans of all sizes to dogs and cats. Additionally, she walks well on her leash and will do anything for treats, so training should be a breeze. Per her foster, Mabel’s potty training is going very well, too. They tell us that her #1 priority is cuddling, but she can also be energetic and adventurous at times! Mabel is believed to be a Collie mix and it’s clear she has inherited some of their amazing qualities. Collies are known to be relatively active and intelligent while being people-pleasers to the core. Mabel lives up to this tenfold. A dog like her would make an excellent family companion–all she needs is continued training, exercise, and LOVE to thrive in her new home.  If you’re looking for a well-rounded companion with loyalty beyond belief, look no further. Apply to meet this spotted darling today!

Story
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming! Meet Butterfly, Belly Flop, Cannonball and Freestyle, our four strongest swimmers we have ever had in the SNIPSA program. These four brothers got their names from their groovy swim moves they like to display every time they get picked up. Originally living undercover in a hotel room, it was only a matter of time before these boys were discovered. Now, these professional travelers are searching for their permanent homes. Did you know that litters of puppies can have different dads? Well, it’s quite apparent with this group of four! Butterfly and Freestyle appear to hold some Hound qualities with their floppy ears and prominent eyebrows. Meanwhile, with the fluffier hair and colorful markings, Belly Flop and Cannonball look more like Collie Mixes. Each of these breeds is known for their happy-go-lucky and energetic nature, so they would benefit from a home with lots of room to exercise! Despite their initial shyness, these puppies are sweet and quick to trust so they are sure to flourish in their forever homes. Even though we will never know the entirety of their breed without a DNA test, we do know they are all 100% CUTE. So, don’t hesitate to paddle on over and submit an application to meet one of these swimming sweeties!

Story
Everyone's adoption numbers are down this year, and especially for larger dogs; so, Baytown Humane Society is trying to go the extra mile to make our bigger dogs more appealing! Abigail aka Abby has not only been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped, she has also completed three weeks of professional training! This particular training group allows lifetime contact and follow-up on the dogs they train; so, the adopter will have access to their support and advice, if it is ever needed. We believe this perk to be value added to a great dog! =) We believe Abby to be predominantly a Smooth Coat Collie. She is approximately 18 months old and weighs about 60 pounds. She loves car rides and has proven to be a happy, intelligent dog that does well with people and other dogs. She is eager to please and learns quickly! Abby is absolutely ready to find her forever home. Some lucky family is going to love and cherish this beautiful dog for many years to come! She is a keeper!! If you are interested in adopting this spectacular dog, just complete the online pet adoption application you will find near her photos on our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This special girl was rescued out of a greenbelt ditch with her sisters. Feral and scared to death, they were eventually caught and brought to us. Both girls would not let us touch them for the first few weeks, then progress began. Not 100% trusting of humans so a special home is needed; experienced with feral dogs, quiet, no kids, not alot of visitors or sudden changes. Reyna needs to trust her person and not be expected to be perfect. She is a flight risk. New things, new noises and people make her a uneasy. She gives great hugs and kisses to our staff but that is after 5 years of rehab. She walks well on a leash, loves other dogs, loves toys and blankets, and would love to be in a home to keep her safe. If you have the patience and love, in a non-changing environment for Reyna needs give us a call for more details.

Not trusting of humans she needs a special home; experienced with feral dogs, quiet, no kids, not alot of visitors or sudden changes. Issa may never recover from the trauma she experienced in that ditch but that doesn't mean she does not deserve to find her forever home. She needs to trust her person and not be expected to be perfect, affectionate or play. She walks well on a leash, loves other dogs, loves toys, and would love to be just be a dog. If you have the patience and love Issa needs give us a call, she may never be that snuggly, go-fetch girl but she is very goofy in her own way.

Cattle Dog Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)

Male, 7 yrs
Fair Oaks Ranch, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This sweet boy was pulled from death row at animal control. He and his sister didn't have much time left. Vinnie has a very kind personality, skittish at first but will warm up when he gets to know you. He is a bit frightened of being touched or held so you just have to work with his terms. He will allow affection, but on his terms and when he is in the mood. We assume he did not receive much affection or care, if at all, but he still is just waiting on his forever home to love. Vinnie does like other dogs, loves toys, seems to be crate trained a bit. Vinnie is a great boy, with so much potential in the right home, he would probably do best in a quiet home without small children and he IS a flight risk, and will need an experience adopter. We hope that you will give him a chance.
