She is **extremely affectionate** and absolutely adores spending time with her humans. And then there are the stuffies. 🧸 Cherie is OBSESSED with plush toys! The second she gets a new one, she gets so excited and loves collecting them. If your home has a designated stuffie pile, Cherie would like to apply immediately. 😂 She also loves: 🌊 Playing in the water 🦴 Snacks 🐾 Going for walks 🧸 Collecting stuffies ❤️ Being with her people 🌳 Going on adventures Cherie needs to be an **only dog in the home**, as she can be selective about her doggy companions. That said, she does wonderfully around other dogs in public settings and enjoys passing other dogs while out on walks and adventures. Cherie isn't a big fan of being crated and can be quite the escape artist, so she will need a patient family with a **secure yard** and a home that understands her quirks. Welcome Kai to CCPAL Rescue foster program.  Kai is a very sweet girl, she is just about 1 year old. She is a German Shepherd/Smooth Collie (BorderCollie)  She weighs about 60 pounds and should stay medium sized.  She is good on a leash, good with other dogs.  She is mostly with her sister in her foster home.  She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car.  She is fully potty trained and very smart.  She is good with children and likes toys.  She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy.  She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog.  She will be a fun one to train.  She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her.  She has one upright ear and one that is not.  She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home.  She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.  She would be a great family companion and could go with children.  We like children to be 8 or older.  Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Kia is $400 and transport is $200.  This is a very desirable breed mix.   We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Thanks to the dedication of Kerrville Pets Alive, Gypsy received the surgery and chemotherapy she needed—and today, she’s happy, healthy, and absolutely thriving. Gypsy is as sweet as they come. She does great with other dogs and loves having playmates to romp around with. One of her favorite things in the world is playing fetch—she’ll happily chase a ball and bring it back again and again with pure joy. She’s also housebroken, affectionate, and loves to cuddle up with her people after a good play session. Gypsy has been through so much, but you’d never know it—her spirit is bright, resilient, and full of love.
