Story
Meet Amber, a girl whose name couldn’t be more fitting. Just like the soft glow of amber itself, she radiates warmth, comfort, and a gentle kind of joy that reaches you the moment you meet her. At 2 years old and 65 pounds, this gorgeous Collie mix is the very definition of a loving companion—sweet, affectionate, and always hoping to be close enough for you to feel the steady beat of her loyal heart. Amber’s story began in a tiny rural community, where she wandered alone until kind locals stepped in to help her. No one came forward to claim her, but maybe that’s because her real family is still out there—someone who will recognize that she was meant for them. When Critter Cavalry Rescue brought her in, they immediately saw it: her remarkable intelligence, her eagerness to bond, and her gentle, soulful spirit. Amber enjoys every simple pleasure with pure gratitude—exploring the world on her harness, leaning in for affection, and curling up with her beloved stuffed bunny, who has become her constant companion. She loves being brushed, loves being talked to, and really loves being included. Amber gets along with other dogs, though her enthusiasm may be a bit much for calmer companions. As for cats… well, they’re a little mysterious and intimidating to her. But people? She adores them—wholeheartedly. This beautiful girl is ready to become someone’s heart dog… that once-in-a-lifetime companion who fills a home with warmth, softness, and quiet devotion. If you are looking for a dog who will love you with her whole soul, who will share every moment by your side, and who will glow with gratitude for the rest of her life, Amber may be the one you’ve been waiting for.   If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 22, 2025, 9:52 pm

Story
Charlie is a good dog who got a bad start.  We have no knowledge of his history and where he came from, but we are pretty sure he has not lived in a house with people.  When he first came to us, he hid from the dishwasher, barked at the television and ran away when first presented with stuffed toys.  He remains easily spooked by noise, but is improving – getting used to the dishwasher, the television, the stuffed dog toys and other day-to-day items in the house.  Physically, he was in pretty bad condition - He was positive for tick illnesses (we gave him Doxy and he is doing bettter now), his coat and skin were in horrible condition (we've given him good nutrition and he's looking a lot better), his teeth were Grade 3 dental disease (we gave him a dental and they are all clean now)!  Charlie weighs about 63 lbs. Charlie is a quick learner, and is adapting to life in a home with his foster collie sister.  He is learning commands and is starting to recognize his name.  We do not crate him, but leave it open and he often sleeps in there.  He is respectful of the house and items in it, and does not jump on the furniture.  He is very cooperative - He pretty much will stand still for almost anything if you ask him to especially if you scratch him – he loves to be scratched.  He grooms well, and is very affectionate.  His fur is growing in nicely since he needed to have some extensive matting shaved.   He’s very focused on understanding and fitting into his new environment.  He watches intensely and you can see the wheels turning as he tries to figure it all out.  He is interested in other dogs and people, and has shown no aggression toward either – but he will bark in the backyard at passing people (and squirrels) with his sister, who loves to do that.  He has shown interest in playing with other dogs, though we have not yet allowed that. Charlie is quite smart and very eager to please. We estimate his age to be about 6 years old.  If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Our standard adoption fee is $450. This fee helps us to cover (and sometimes only partially cover) the expense of providing each dog with a Health Exam, Rabies/DHPP vaccines, Heartworm Test, Heartworm Preventative, Flea & Tick Protection, Microchip, Neuter/Spay, a Bath and any other medical needs.  Thank you for your consideration in adopting a collie in need!!! Story
Born: October 13, 2024 Duffy is a beautiful, smiley young man, who will turn one year old in October 2025. He is a sweet and cuddly guy, who snuggles on the sofa and gives lavish loving kisses. Duffy loves all other dogs and his family - but he is skittish around new people, though, and new places, and needs slow, secure introductions.Duffy is neutered, housebroken, well trained, and except for his penchant for finding fun new toys in the house - preferably paper! - exceptionally well behaved. He’s on the tall side for a collie, and is going to be stunning when his full coat comes in! Duffy is looking for a patient and active family, with someone nonstop to play with, and a big yard. He is a gift who will be well worth the time to earn his trust. Story
Bandit was adopted from our rescue as a pup and was sadly brought back because his adopter was having a baby and unable to care for him. He is a loving boy who is used to lots of room to run and play. He loves the outdoors, making him a wonderful camping/hiking partner. He has been raised around kids, but because he is a cattledog, he may try to nip them. He means no harm; it's just his breed. Bandit is housebroken and crate trained according to his previous family. He has lived with other dogs but has not been tested around cats. If you would like to adopt Bandit, please submit an application https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/66b954c3bf28ecca4c04aecb
