Story
To learn more about Silas, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Silas will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Meet the ever-handsome, Silas! This hound boy is an energetic and joyous young man looking to blossom in a forever home. His looks are really impressive, with classic hound coloring, expressive facial movements, and a tongue that may be larger than his face! And that’s not to discount his deep hazel eyes, which give him just that little bit of extra cuteness. Silas is around 2 years old, making him fully grown, but still maturing. He is still finding his way and would benefit from structure and routine while he discovers what the world has to offer. He has already mastered how to walk with his nose to the ground, not giving up on any interesting smells. He has also experienced jogging and has done well in the car. His nose will often work overtime, which leads him to have a bit of a refined taste. Silas has not gone for all treats, but has especially enjoyed cheese and peanut butter. So, if you’re in the market for a devilishly handsome hound (with peanut butter and cheese readily available), you may have just found your match! Don’t miss out, and adopt Silas ASAP!

To learn more about Boone, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Boone will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Boone is a senior Coonhound mix who perfectly balances “distinguished gentleman” with “goofy best friend.” This long-snooted guy has plenty of pep left and LOVES getting outside to explore—he’s happiest when he’s following his nose and taking in the world around him. He may be a little unsure in brand new situations, but he warms up quickly and is eager to please. Boone is affectionate, loves snuggles, and is overall an easygoing, happy pup who just wants to be part of the fun. He came to us as a stray, so we’re still getting to know him—but so far, he’s proven to be equal parts sweet, silly, and full of charm. If you’re looking for a gentle, fun-loving companion with a playful heart, Boone might just be your perfect match.

Story
It is so hard on a dog when a loving owner dies. It is even harder when the relatives are coldly indifferent to whether the dog lives or dies, and can't even be bothered to take them to a shelter. Such was the case for Elmo, After his owner died unexpectedly, Elmo, another adult dog, and a young puppy were left alone in the house. A kind neighbor fed them and assumed relatives would soon come and take the dogs. The relatives came all right. They loaded a truck with anything of value, took the young puppy, and not only abandoned Elmo and his companion but left the front door wide open, even though the house was just feet from a busy road! Fortunately before either of the abandoned dogs left the house, the kind neighbor secured them and called a rescue. Elmo's companion has been adopted, but Elmo is still waiting. Elmo is the sweetest dog with the most adorably wrinkly face. He is very affectionate, and loves to give hugs and kisses, and loves to cuddle on the couch. If you are just hanging out with him, he will lean up against you, or lay down next to you and very carefully put his head on your foot just so he can be touching you. Elmo is crate trained and seems to be housetrained. He is very food motivated, but doesn't beg or steal food. He takes treats gently. He is doing very well learning his leash manners. He is good with other dogs and with children, and with training would likely be good with cats. He is a bit clumsy and a little drooly when he drinks water, but it just adds to his adorably goofy character. Elmo is a sweet boy who just wants a person or family to love him as much as he will love them. HART Homepage: https://hart90.org/ Questions About this Animal?
