Story
Pembroke Welsh Corgi Mix Age: Senior Male, neutered 20 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Llew was picked up by animal control off the streets of Hayward. He was unable to use his back legs. Otherwise he seemed in fairly good shape. He must not have been on the streets for long. It is suspected that he had a back problem (IVDD) that was never treated. He has responded well to anti-inflammatory and pain medications. He has gained some use of his back legs (he can stand and walk a few steps). He has been in physical therapy for a few months. UPDATE: With diligent persistence from his foster home, Llew is walking again on his back legs. He is a little wobbly, but he is using his back legs all the time - no more dragging. For all he has been through, he has an excellent demeanor - very friendly, very loving. He can come off as a little “pushy” to some dogs, but overall he gets along well with all the dogs in his foster home. He needs a home with no stairs, and where someone is home most of the time. He would prefer a home with another friendly dog. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs is willing to assist with his vet costs, if needed. Even though he has regained the ability to walk with his hind legs, the jury is still out on whether he has control of his bladder and bowels. He appears to pee when he goes outside, but he doesn't stop and pee. Similarly, he doesn't stop and poop - it just comes out when it is ready. Story
Hello, my name is Coco! I'm a cute boy that is curious of the world. I love people very much and whenever I walk down the street, there are always people who want to play with me. I am scared of other dogs so I would bark and run away from other dogs. I never played with small kids before, but maybe someone can give me a chance. Colin keeps feeling that he doesn't have enough time to keep me company and I always feel bored. I hope someone with experience can give me a forever home with more attention. I am ready for the new life. I’m neutered, up to date on everything! I hope you ask about me!!!

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   The Juice Bar puppies are a litter of 3 month old Corgi x Papillon mixes who are serving up glasses of adorableness at your local watering hole! This litter was rescued from a hoarding situation and taken to the local shelter. They sent up a paw signal as their kennels were at capacity and we leaped into action to heed their call. We scooped up as many puppies and dogs as we could and promised to find them amazing forever homes. This litter is 4 girls and 2 boys. We expect these puppies to be in the 15-17 pound range when they reach adulthood. These fluffy and cuddly puppies are as sweet as can be and we know that they will be the best treat on upcoming hot summer days. If you’re looking for a new buddy to take on the summer with, bring home a Juice Bar puppy today!    Fresca (F): Fresca is a sweet girl with a heart of pure gold. She is playful and energetic and adores her soft plush toys. Fresca has never met a stranger she hasn’t won over in minutes. She loves the kids in her foster home and showers them in kisses every minute of the day. She is always up for a cuddle session or a game of fetch. Fresca charges into new adventures with the spirit of a dog five times her size, and we’ve decided not to tell her she’s just a pipsqueak. Her heart is bursting out of her little body and she shows it in the love she spreads around the world. Fresca also knows when her people need some cuddles and she is attuned to the emotions of her family. What a perfect puppy. Fresca will be a fabulous companion to the local dog-friendly brewery, the neighborhood BBQ, or a night of camping under the stars. Whatever you’ve got on your summer bucket list, make sure you add a can of Fresca, because this girl is ready to go!  Fruit Punch (F): Fruit Punch is funny, friendly, furry, and full of love for YOU! From the second she entered her foster home, she immediately clocked the softest blanket and charged right over to make herself comfortable. Fruit Punch loves a cuddle pile, especially when she can rest on top. Unlike some of her siblings, Fruit Punch is happy to amuse herself as needed and loves her toys and chews. However, she also adores her people and would be a fantastic WFH buddy as she gets older. She can even rock a bandana or a hair bow with company branding if you need a new mascot. FP loves giving little kisses and snuggles. Her party trick is sleeping on her back with her legs up like a little dead bug, which never fails to make us chuckle. FP will make her lucky forever home so happy, as she will bring bundles of love and joy to her new household. This punch bowl is ready to be the life of any party!  Iced Tea (M): Iced Tea is a playful and loving gentleman who hits just the right level of sweetness for your summer brew. Unlike some of his sisters, Tea is more on the independent side. He loves exploring the yard and finds new adventures every day. He would love a home who is ready to explore all the wonders California has to offer. He also loves to play and would adore a chest of toys to launch himself into. Iced Tea is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly, like any good puppy. He is so funny as well, pouncing on his toys and then hopping around the house with his “prize”. Once this dude has tired himself out from playing, he is heading to your lap for cuddles and pets. Iced Tea will be a fabulous travel companion, whether you’re hitting the road for a camping trip or a day at the beach. Iced Tea is ready to serve you up a glass of friendship, so bring him home today!  Kombucha (F): Kombucha is a girl who knows how to get her snuggle on! She’s often found in the arms of her foster family as her siblings race around the yard. She loves cuddling and will blink her puppy dog eyes up at you as you give her endless belly rubs. She’s one of the most gentle puppies we have had in a long time. She also loves being the center of attention and would love a home ready to crown her Queen of the House. She will reward you by making you the light of her world. Kombucha is also super smart and intuitive, learning quickly what the rattle of the food bowl scoop means and meandering over to the bowl ahead of her siblings. With her gorgeous green eyes and her perfect temperament, Kombucha is a tall glass of love.  Lemonade (M): What’s better during a hot summer day than a glass of ice cold Lemonade? A sweet puppy named Lemonade, of course! Lemonade is an outgoing and friendly pup who loves his toys but loves you more. Lemonade is the first to exit the pen in the morning and he heads right over to you for snuggles. Once he gets his fill, he is leading the charge to the door for his morning sniff around the yard. Lemonade has the spirit of adventure in him and he will fearlessly venture into the unknown (the yard) until he realizes you're not following him. Then, he’s zooming back over to you like “c’mon, let’s get a move on”! Lemonade will be a fabulous pal for your summer picnics or beach trips, as he loves meeting new people and making them fall in love with him. You’ll make tons of new friends when you take this boy out on the town. Don’t let this glass of sweetness pass you by!  Shirley Temple (F): Shirley Temple is the sweetest mocktail of the litter and a world class cutie! This brindle girl has a unique coat that makes her stand out in any crowd. She loves to cuddle and wins everyone she meets over with her puppy kisses and snuggles. Shirley is happy to watch the antics of her siblings from the comfort of a warm lap, but she can get her zoomies on with the best of them. Shirley is quietly clever and learned how to use her puppy dog eyes to get everything she wants very quickly. It’s hard to resist slipping her an extra treat when she nuzzles her little nose into your palm. Shirley will be a fabulous buddy for a home looking for a new best friend to hang out either in the house during the workday or out by the pool on the weekend. Your life will be sweeter when you bring a glass of Shirley Temple into it, and don’t forget the cherry!     The puppies start their morning between 6-7 AM when their foster families come into their playroom and greet them. The puppies head outside to do their bathroom business while their pen is cleaned out from their sleep activities. After they come back inside, they are served breakfast. The puppies eat three times a day: 8 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM. Throughout the day, the puppies alternate between play, sleep, potty. They love getting their snuggles in from their loving foster families and soak up the one on one time they each get throughout the afternoon. After the workday ends, the puppies scamper around the house as their foster families start to unwind from their days and cook dinner. The puppies get some more cuddle time as the TV gets turned on and love getting belly rubs and kisses. After TV time, the puppies get herded outside for one last potty trip and sniff. They come back into their pen and settle down for the night around 9 PM. They fall asleep piled on top of each other and drift off to sleep, with dreams of adventures ahead.  The Juice Bar puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They will need continued training and socialization to ensure they are well-rounded adults. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss their plans for obedience classes on their application. The puppies adore people and are all very food motivated. They are clever as well, and have learned how to utilize their puppy dog eyes to get everything they want from their foster people. These puppies are getting cuter by the day and we know they will be the talk of the town once they are adopted. For those families looking for a sweet beverage as summer kicks off, look no further than our Juice Bar puppies!    The Juice Bar puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Our youngest dogs require the most dog owning experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8. June 24, 2024, 7:53 am
