Story
My name is Pippa. I am an 11 month old Corgi/terrier mix. I weigh 28 lbs. I love to give hugs and kisses. I love belly rubs and pats and sleeping in bed with my people. I rarely bark. At first, I will be reserved but quickly warm up to everyone. I hate squirrels but like other dogs. I don't think I know what a cat is. I can use a doggy door, am not afraid of crates, but don't really like the door to be closed on me. I am dark brown with golden undertones and am growing the cutest goatee. My tail can unfurl at any time. If you are looking for a smaller, scruffy, loving dog, than I am the one for you!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Sometimes we get the most unusual phone calls that prick our heart with the intensity of a desperate need, even if they are a thousand miles away.   Trooper, and some of his friends from New Mexico have entered our world and we are trying to help.  There's a rural shelter in a small town in New Mexico that very few people stop in to adopt. But yet, the drop offs continue to build, and adoptions do not match the number of dogs in the shelter.  A very dedicated and passionate rescue woman that drives her own independent tractor trailer, moving loads of cargo in freight from state to state, from job to job, has learned that she must stop in at that shelter and check out what they have on the euthanasia list.  She is an independent lady who champions the underdogs.  She gave Critter Cavalry  a call and told us about a number of small breed dogs that are under twenty pounds that needed a rescue to save them.  Critter Cavalry signed up. Trooper is an adorable 6 month old small breed boy that we think is a Chiweenie. Trooper, is a beautiful boy who is six months old and weighs 8 pounds and will most probably top out as an adult boy at 15 pounds. He is cuddly, shy and great with other dogs. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a beautiful life and future, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 2, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Adoption Donation    $   399 Located: New England  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx 8 years old Weight: 18 lbs.   Buffy settled in and her personality came out. She likes to play with my dog Teddy (a 2.5 year old choc lab) and gets her own zoomies, even though she’s 8. She loves balls and little stuffies.    She’s crate trained and not destructive at all. Only has accidents if left outside the crate and without humans home for more than a few hours. She sleeps on my bed without night issues.    She ADORES her primary person. She’ll be your shadow. She’s fine with people (new or known) coming and going from the house.    She loves food. Definitely needs less. She’s gotten fat with us because my dog grazes and I just fill the bowl. She might benefit from scheduled feedings    No young kids for her. When she’s settled in for a nap, bed or has a favorite toy, she will growl if you bother her. If you don’t heed her warning she will nip.    Re. The cleft palate, It hasn’t been an issue. It doesn’t impede her breathing, eating or playing with balls or her favorite little stuffies. Her mouth is petite so small kibble and treats. They pulled teeth before she came up here. All her remaining teeth look white and healthy.    My yard is fenced so I haven’t taken her for any long walks. Though she does well on a leash when I’ve taken her places. She doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She zooms around on her own when she wants to.     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: bctek78@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save li ves from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   bctek78@gmail.com Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. Story
Sissy is the kind of dog who’s happiest curled up next to you at the end of the day. She’s calm, affectionate, and just wants to be close without being overwhelming. Sissy is a young corgi/JRT mix with a unique look—long and low, but not heavy. She’s the perfect size for couch cuddles and everyday life. She’s very loving and enjoys being with her person, whether that’s relaxing at home or just hanging out nearby. When she first arrived, she was scared of other dogs and reacted out of fear. Once she realized she was safe, she completely relaxed and now does well around them. That tells you a lot about her—she’s sensitive, aware, and able to adjust when she feels secure. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, affectionate companion who enjoys closeness and will settle into a steady, comfortable routine. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit?
