Story
Lady Lucy – Sweet Survivor  Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart the moment you meet them, and Lady Lucy is certainly one of those dogs. Though her past appears to have been filled with uncertainty, she has emerged from it with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and an unwavering belief that good things are still ahead. Lady Lucy was one of nine dogs discovered living in a remote wooded area of Middle Tennessee after they were apparently abandoned when their owner fell on difficult times. No one knows exactly how long they survived on their own, but their situation touched the hearts of many rescue volunteers who came together to help. With patience, food, water, and kindness, the dogs were gradually brought to safety. Rescue groups across the region stepped forward to help, and Critter Cavalry Rescue was fortunate enough to welcome Lady Lucy into its care. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Lucy had once known the comforts of a home. She settled in beautifully and quickly showed everyone what a wonderful companion she is. At just over a year old and weighing 32 pounds, Lucy is the perfect size for a family looking for a smaller dog with a big heart. She appears to be a delightful mix of Corgi and Beagle, though her most remarkable feature is her personality. She is affectionate, gentle, and full of love, with the easygoing nature often found in hound breeds. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Lucy simply wants to be close to her people. She is fully grown, crate trained, housebroken, and has excellent manners in the home. Lucy currently lives successfully with other dogs and does very well in an active household with teenagers, but she has made it clear that she would not mind having a little less competition for attention. After all she has been through, we think she would happily embrace a life where she can enjoy a bit more of the spotlight and receive the princess treatment she believes is rightfully hers. Lady Lucy has a way of looking into your eyes that makes you feel like you've known each other forever. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds, offers unwavering companionship, and fills a home with warmth and comfort. Her difficult past has not diminished her capacity to love; if anything, it seems to have made her even more appreciative of every kindness she receives. Now all that remains is for the right family to find her. Lady Lucy is packed and ready for her next adventure, with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. She is ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the life she has always deserved with a family who will cherish her as the special girl she truly is. To learn more about Lady Lucy or to request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 28, 2026, 11:47 am

Story
Adoption Donation    $   399 Located: New England  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx 8 years old Weight: 18 lbs.   Buffy settled in and her personality came out. She likes to play with my dog Teddy (a 2.5 year old choc lab) and gets her own zoomies, even though she’s 8. She loves balls and little stuffies.    She’s crate trained and not destructive at all. Only has accidents if left outside the crate and without humans home for more than a few hours. She sleeps on my bed without night issues.    She ADORES her primary person. She’ll be your shadow. She’s fine with people (new or known) coming and going from the house.    She loves food. Definitely needs less. She’s gotten fat with us because my dog grazes and I just fill the bowl. She might benefit from scheduled feedings    No young kids for her. When she’s settled in for a nap, bed or has a favorite toy, she will growl if you bother her. If you don’t heed her warning she will nip.    Re. The cleft palate, It hasn’t been an issue. It doesn’t impede her breathing, eating or playing with balls or her favorite little stuffies. Her mouth is petite so small kibble and treats. They pulled teeth before she came up here. All her remaining teeth look white and healthy.    My yard is fenced so I haven’t taken her for any long walks. Though she does well on a leash when I’ve taken her places. She doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She zooms around on her own when she wants to.     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: bctek78@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save li ves from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   bctek78@gmail.com Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Story
Marcy is the type of dog that makes people smile almost immediately. She has a goofy, happy personality, loves being involved in whatever you are doing, and absolutely lives for water. If there is a pond, creek, kiddie pool, or muddy shoreline nearby, Marcy will find it. Marcy is a stocky, short-legged mixed breed girl around 45 pounds full grown with a personality that balances confidence and sensitivity in a really unique way. She loves adventures, swimming, exploring, and outdoor activities, but she is not a nonstop high-energy dog. She can absolutely keep up on hikes, walks, or active days, then happily relax afterward. She is great with other dogs and cats. With dogs, she does best around friendly, respectful personalities. She can get intimidated if another dog is overly pushy or tries to dominate her, but outside of that she is social, playful, and very happy around other animals. With new people, Marcy can sometimes give a little low growl at first. It is not aggression and she has never shown aggressive behavior. It is simply her way of saying she needs a moment to process and get comfortable. Once she settles in, her affectionate and goofy personality comes out quickly. She is basically an extroverted introvert. Marcy would be a great fit for someone looking for a dog that enjoys adventures and outdoor time but does not need constant stimulation to stay happy. She especially needs a family that understands that not every friendly dog is instantly social with strangers, and that giving a dog a few minutes to warm up is completely okay. Good fit: someone looking for a fun, outdoorsy companion that enjoys water, adventures, and relaxing equally. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit?
