Story

Zebra is a male Pooton puppy born 1/19/24. Like his name indicates, he is a mix of black and white. He has an adorable little face and is very playful. He enjoys playing hide and seek with my resident dog and exploring outside. He kennels easily with his sister throughout the night and during periods during the daytime for naps. Potty training is a work in progress. He likes belly rubs. He will be a great, high energy little dog.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story

Bower is the sweetest little ball of love! He is a Pooton, which is a purebred poodle and purebred Coton de Tulear born approximately 1/19/24. He’ll likely never get above 15 pounds and 12 inches tall, so he’ll always be a little guy. His hair will grow medium-to-long length and require grooming. Bower is learning that having a home is wonderful! He’s super playful and wants to run and play with toys all day long. He’s working on potty training, and learning he gets lots of praise when he does his business outside. Potty training is coming along beautifully! He lives with Foster Mom’s resident dog who he absolutely loves. He has loved every dog he has met so far. Inside the house, Bower has run of the house and he frequently jumps onto the dog beds to lounge and nap. He has been in a crate, and he does just fine in there. He’s not in his crate for more than a couple hours at a time. He loves toys and keeps himself entertained with a variety of toys. He’s a puppy so he wants to be chewing on most everything. Keep your nice shoes out of his reach! He LOVES treats, and dinner time makes him very excited. Rides in the car are becoming one of his favorite things to do. He’s doing great with walking on a leash, but he can’t walk too far, and certainly not walk fast.  His little legs are perfect for nice short strolls where he can stop and sniff along the way.  Bower is with his foster mom most of the day and he’d do best in a home where someone will be home with him most of the day. He’d also do best in a home where there’s another resident dog who he can learn from. He loves the companionship of my resident dog.  He’s a sweet, playful, curious, smart, little guy,  and he’ll make a wonderful companion to someone who’s looking for an adorable furry family member.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Diamond is a female Pooton (cross between Coton De Tulear and Poodle) puppy born 1/19/24.  She has beautiful black and white coloring and is a little fluff ball. Like her brother Zebra, Diamond is joyful and loves to play with people and my resident dog. She kennels easily with her brother for the duration of the night and on and off for naps during the day. Potty training is a work in progress. She loves cuddling with my children. She will make a great companion dog. Charlie is a 13-year-old male Shih Tzu mix that weighs 9 pounds. He has beautiful curly white and brown fur. Charlie’s owner died and a family friend cared for him for a while, but was eventually surrendered to our rescue due to the family having 3 large dogs who intimidated and overpowered him. Charlie has no teeth therefore he eats small kibble or moist dog food and soft treats. He has some hearing loss and gets startled easily if touched from behind. Charlie is a loving, happy guy. He follows his people and wants to be by you or at least always be able to see you. He spends his day sleeping near his foster family while they work at home. Charlie shows no interest in playing with toys. He enjoys going outside and loves a fenced in yard. He is house trained but needs to be let out every few hours. His foster parents make sure to let him out before leaving the house and frequently throughout the day. He sleeps contently in his own bed at night but would love to sleep in his people’s bed if given the opportunity. Charlie enjoys looking out the patio window, scouting out invading birds and squirrels on the deck. He doesn’t bark much when his foster family is around but gets very excited when his foster family returns home. When the weather is warm, he likes to sit out on the deck with his foster family. He walks well on the leash and loves to go to the park. Charlie has had frequent ear infections in the past and his adopters must clean his ears once a week to prevent infection. An adults only home would suit him perfectly, although older children (older than 12 years), who are respectful, would be okay. Charlie has no teeth, so he eats small kibble or moist dog food and soft treats. He has some hearing loss and gets startled easily if touched from behind. He would be okay with another small dog in the house, and may rely on the other dog if his hearing continues to diminish. These are the requirements for Charlie’s new family: • A stay-at-home family, or a family where someone is home most of the day. Older children would be okay. • A fenced yard is a plus but not a requirement. He will explore the outdoors but should not be left alone outside. • A family that is willing to clean his ears once a week. • A family who lives within 30 miles of the Twin Cities. While Charlie is 13 years old, he will still bring many years of love and companionship to a family who will open their hearts to a senior dog. We hope his new family will plan to attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion every year in September. Charlie is neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea & tick preventative medication. Charlie’s adoption fee is $75.00 plus $6.39 sales tax for a total cost of $81.39.
