Story
Dorothy is a 12 year old, 11 lb very sweet, quiet and calm chiweenie who came to us in an emaciated state.  She has gained weight, but is still a very thin senior.  She loves lap-sitting, following family members around the house and napping.  A bonus is that Dorothy does not bark.   Dorothy also loves going for morning walks and stroller rides.   Dorothy has a grade 6/6 heart murmur and is on medication for that.  She also some senior dog visual impairment. Dorothy's adoption fee has been sponsored. There is a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:   http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm  Wish Bone Canine Rescue  1303 Morrissey Drive Bloomington, IL 61701 www.wishbonecaninerescue.org           Since its our desire that you have a pet you can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the pet is the best match for you and your family.  We require that you complete our online www.wishbonecaninerescue.org (Please give us 24 hours to verify your information). Story
Hi! My name is Lady Bell, the sweetest dachshund you’ll meet. I am a low energy, cuddle bug who likes to explore the house and backyard. I do well with other dogs, they don’t bother me at all! I’m good in a crate while my human is gone and use the bathroom outside. I am a little shy at first but after I warm up, I snuggle you like no other. Ready to add me to your pawfect life? All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet Little Miss — the Sweetest Shadow You’ll Ever Have Little Miss is a 7 year old Dachshund Mix who weighs 22 lbs. Little Miss came to us after her owner sadly passed away, and this gentle girl has been settling into her foster home with so much grace. She’s fully house‑trained, doesn’t use a crate, and sleeps wherever she pleases — sometimes right in bed with her foster mom. She’s a lower‑energy companion who’s happiest just hanging out around the house or yard, following you from room to room like your loyal little shadow. She enjoys brief walks, cozy cuddle sessions, and playing with toys — especially her beloved stuffies. Little Miss is great with the small dogs in her foster home and had the easiest intro ever. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she’d likely do well with calm, respectful children who understand that she gets nervous about being picked up. Her foster mom describes her as friendly, happy, sweet, and maybe a little spacey in the most endearing way. She loves to snuggle, gets along with all the animals, and would be perfectly content either following other dogs around or being the only pet. At mealtimes she can be a bit nervous and sometimes needs gentle coaxing to come eat. Right now she’s on soft food only due to limited teeth, and softened kibble hasn’t worked well for her. If you’re looking for a soft‑hearted, easygoing companion who just wants to be near her person, Little Miss might be the perfect match. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Ketchup is an 8-year-old, 13.5-pound sweetheart who is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. In his foster home, this gentle little guy has shown just how much love he has to give. He happily splits his time between puttering around the house, exploring the yard, and climbing into his person’s lap for kisses. Wherever you are, that’s where Ketchup wants to be. Ketchup is crate trained and settles in nicely, though he may politely let you know if he feels he’s been in there a bit too long. He's also house-trained. Ketchup enjoys leisurely walks, rides well in the car, and is described by his foster as a sweet, happy little guy. He can be shy and unsure when meeting new people, but once he realizes he’s safe, his joy really comes out. He is just a sensitive heart that needs reassurance now and then. He is good with dogs of all sizes and cats and would be happy in a home with or without other pets. Ketchup will do best with calm, respectful children ages 12 and up. Being small, he can feel scared if picked up unexpectedly, so his foster family has been helping him learn consent-based handling. When he’s ready to be picked up, he eagerly hops up on his foster’s legs. When he’s not, he lets you know—and that trust is everything to him. Ketchup is looking for a patient, loving home that will move at his pace and celebrate the small victories: a wag, a kiss, a quiet moment curled up together. For the right person, he’ll be a devoted little companion with a soft soul and a whole lot of love to give. His adoption fee has been sponsored, There is  a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents if 4 months or older. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
