Story
Meet Cali! 🌭❤️
Some Dachshunds are long.
Cali decided to be long… and a little extra.
This adorable 4-year-old red Dachshund currently tips the scales at about 20 pounds, which means she’s carrying a few more snacks than she should. Her New Year’s resolution (yes, we know it’s not January) is to trade a few pounds for a few more years of adventures, and she’s hoping to find a family who will cheer her on every step of the way.
Don’t let her figure fool you—Cali isn’t lazy. She enjoys her walks, walks nicely on a leash, and would love a family who believes exercise should always end with cuddle time.
Speaking of cuddles… that’s truly Cali’s specialty.
She’s quiet, incredibly sweet, and happiest when she’s hanging out with her people. She doesn’t have separation anxiety or demand constant attention, but if you give her the choice between being across the room or glued to your side, she’ll happily choose you every time.
Cali appears to be potty trained, is comfortable in a crate, and gets along well with other friendly dogs. She’s more of a “thank you, but I’ll just sit with my human” kind of girl than a wrestling champion, so she’d also be perfectly content as your one-and-only spoiled princess.
She would likely do well with older, respectful children. Cats are unknown.
If you’ve been searching for a sweet little low-rider with a gorgeous red coat, soulful eyes, and enough love (and a tiny bit of fluff) to fill your home, Cali is ready to roll right into your heart.
Warning: Side effects of adopting Cali may include sharing your blanket, talking to her in a silly voice, and wondering how one little Dachshund can produce so much love.
