Story
🐈Cat Friendly🐈 If you could turn the “strong but silent” type into a dog, it would be Kennedy. She has lived a life with very few people showing her affection. And now she’s ready to learn all about how amazing a family can be. She’s a 7-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund, and we’re certain you’re going to fall in love with her sweet face as soon as you make eye contact! 🥰 Kennedy is smart and already house- and crate-trained, enjoys her treats, and even plays with toys. She tolerates car rides and is learning leash walks, but she's asked for patience as she masters something completely new. It’s not like she needs A LOT of exercise anyway since she’s a petite little lady! 🐾 She is also great with other dogs and even fine with kitties. A home with a confident or calm dog would help sweet Kennedy blossom even more, while helping her see that the world isn’t always so big and scary. 🐶🐱 Kennedy currently prefers to sleep in a dog bed, or even sometimes under a human bed. But with time, lots of treats, and understanding, she may even want to snuggle in your bed one day (remember, she LOVES treats). She’s a sensitive girl who needs an abundance of love. 💓 Because Kennedy is still learning that people can be affectionate and loving, a home without children would be best. In fact, we think she would probably be happiest in a calm setting with minimal hustle and bustle. Kennedy does also need a fenced-in yard. 🏡 Kennedy’s adoption fee is $225 and includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Approved adopters will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🐕

Story
😽Cat Friendly😽 Bella- (bel-la) adjective- Italian for beautiful, lovely, nice Our Bella certainly holds true to her name. Not only is she a beautiful mahogany color, but she also has a sweet personality. Bella is a 1-year-old Dachshund mix who currently weighs 11 pounds. Bella is sweet, loving, and a little bit silly. Bella is a lover🥰 and gets along well with people, cats, and other dogs. She is crate trained; however, she would rather sleep in bed with you at night. She is almost house-trained and is smart enough to master it in no time! Bella has busy puppy energy and enjoys playing with all of the toys in her foster home. When she is done playing, she will cuddle up next to you and gaze at you adoringly with her big, brown, doe-like eyes. 👁👁️ Dachshunds are scent hounds and love a good sniff session where they can stick their long noses deep into the grass and under bushes. They will chase rabbits🐇, mice🐁, and other small animals🐿. A securely fenced backyard is necessary to keep Bella safe. On walks, be prepared to give her plenty of sniff time, as this also helps to burn off some of her puppy-like energy. If this beautiful girl has captured your heart❤️, then fill out an application to meet her! Her adoption fee is $225 and includes her spay, microchip, vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. We will schedule meet-and-greets with approved applicants. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.Org 🐕

Story
Meet Hudson! - If you are looking for a companion that loves his people Hudson is your boy! He will become your shadow and follow you from room to room. - His favorite place to be is on your lap or on the couch next to you. - He walks well on a leash. See him here walking on a leash with a 7 yr old boy: https://youtube.com/shorts/wpZ9kg56pv4?feature=share - He rides well in the car. He will just sit on the passenger seat with occasional peeks out the window - He goes to daycare daily and does fine with dogs of all sizes - There are 5 other small dogs in his foster home and he gets along well with all of them. He has even started to play a bit. He isn't the running a full speed kind of play. He will softly wrestle with a dog that invites him to play - He does like chewing on deer antlers or Yak chews - we've had a belly band on him in the house and he hasn't lifted his leg once. so one could guess he is potty trained . . or at least knows the routine here. he will learn at your house too. Basics: He is a neutered male guessed to be around 3 yrs old and weighs close to 16lbs. He is currently in a foster home in North Kansas City with a 7 yr old boy and 5 small dogs. Adoption Process: - STEP 1: Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee is $280. It helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs

Story
Approx. DOB:7/4/2019                 Approx. Weight: 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!  Meet Lilyanne! Lilyanne is a 7-year-old Miniature Dachshund with a big personality packed into one adorable little body! More than anything, Lilyanne wants her person. She absolutely soaks up attention and affection and will happily follow you from room to room because, in her mind, whatever you're doing is definitely something she should be a part of! If you're looking for a little shadow and devoted companion, Lilyanne may be your girl. Lilyanne gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, although she isn't shy about voicing her opinion—to her foster family, the other dogs, or sometimes just because she has something to say! We think she would be happiest sharing her home with calm or more submissive canine friends who won't mind her confident little personality. She's a sweet, spunky and pretty fearless girl who seems completely unaware that she's a tiny dog. Lilyanne loves her chew toys, enjoys exploring the backyard, and gets super excited for car rides. She also walks fairly well on a leash and enjoys getting out and about with her people. Lilyanne is mostly housetrained and is also very good about using potty pads. She's a healthy eater and has gained a couple of pounds that she needed when she first arrived. She's now at a great weight, so her new family will want to measure her meals to help keep her trim and healthy. Lilyanne has already had some important medical care while with us. She has been spayed, had an umbilical hernia repaired, and received a dental cleaning. Now she's ready to put all of that behind her and concentrate on the important stuff—finding someone to love and adore for the rest of her life. Because she's a tiny lady with a bold personality, we're looking for a home with children age 10 or older. Lilyanne doesn't ask for much—just a person of her own, plenty of love and attention, some good chew toys, and a spot right beside you. ❤️ If you're looking for a loyal little companion who wants to be involved in every part of your day, Lilyanne is ready to fill that position! I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
