You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Boo Boo requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. PLEASE submit an application now at:   The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC          Miss Boo Boo is a very friendly and gets along fine with other dogs.  She is fostered with a pack of five other dogs.  While she does not actively interact with them, she acknowledges their presence and will push them aside so that she can receive pats from her humans. She loves her humans!!     She would do fine as an only dog or one of many. Her foster household does not have cats so we are not sure how she will get along with cats.  Her energy is low, she is such a couch potato!  She will lay with her head next to you and her eyes will look longing into yours as you pat her and show her affection.  The youngest child she has been around is 10 years old, but her temperament leads me to believe that she would do fine with children.  Boo Boo is food motivated but does not guard the resource. She does not need to be crated and does fine having free roaming privileges in her foster home. She is used to a fenced yard and would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard.   Boo Boo is an adorable grand lady that is looking for her forever home and would welcome the love and attention she so richly deserves.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Sadly, Boo Boo's owner passed away and she ended up in a rural shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in knowing that senior dogs are rarely adopted from shelters and she was at risk.  We are now trying to find a good home for her.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lucky – Looking for a Foster-to-Adopt Home! Lucky is an 8-year-old dachshund with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. This sweet boy was surrendered to our rescue when his beloved owner entered long-term care. While he is not currently available for adoption, we are searching for a foster-to-adopt home where he can continue to thrive.  We do take him to vist the owner infrequently which is why we need to keep him in our foster program, for now. Thanks to his amazing foster mom, Lucky has already lost 5 pounds and is feeling so much better! He recently had a dental procedure (with more to come), and he’s been a trooper through it all.  However, she is moving out of state soon so we need to find him a good home in the Raleigh/Durham area.   Lucky enjoys short walks, soft beds, and lots of cuddles. He’s housebroken, easygoing, and good with routines. He’s not a fan of chaos, so a calm and loving home is ideal either as an only dog or maybe one fur sibling.   Location: We are looking for a foster-to-adopt family in or near the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue provides all medical care and supplies while he’s in foster. As Lucky’s situation evolves, we’ll explore adoption with the right match. If you have a soft spot for senior dogs and room in your heart and home, Lucky could be the perfect little companion. Meet Sadie – Your Next Couch Cuddler & Quiet Companion! Quick Facts: Name: Sadie Breed: Wire-Haired Terrier/Dachshund Mix Age: 5–6 years Weight: 20 lbs House-Trained: Yes! Crate-Trained: Not needed—excellent house manners Other Pets: Would enjoy a calm doggie companion Good with Kids: Best in a quiet home without much hustle and bustle Energy Level: Low to medium—loves the couch life but enjoys playtime in the yard Special Needs: None Why You’ll Love Sadie: A perfect mix of playful curiosity and calm companionship House-trained and trustworthy when left alone A quiet, gentle soul who blossoms with patience Great with other mellow dogs Prefers cozy time over chaos—ideal for relaxed households Ready to be your movie marathon buddy! About Sadie’s Breed Mix: This charming combo of wire-haired terrier and dachshund brings together two spunky personalities in one small, endearing pup. Wire-haired terriers are lively and full of mischief, while dachshunds are determined, affectionate, and totally full of themselves—in the best way. Together, this mix gives you a clever, curious, affectionate little companion who’s as happy burrowing into a blanket as she is investigating a good backyard scent. Sadie’s Story & Personality: Sadie came to us shy and timid after living in a very busy home with many dogs—it just wasn’t her style. Since then, she’s blossomed in her foster home where life is quieter and calmer. She loves being the center of attention for her foster mom and has found her groove as a laid-back lap dog. Sadie doesn’t need a crate—she’s polite and trustworthy—and she’s completely housebroken too. She’s not much of an outdoorsy adventurer but will enjoy a secure yard to explore. She’s still learning leash manners, so a fenced yard is ideal. Sadie’s Perfect Home: Calm, quiet household A fenced yard for safe exploration Possibly another calm dog buddy Someone patient who will let her adjust and shower her with love Ready to Make Sadie Yours? Sadie is fully vetted, house-trained, and waiting for someone to share the quiet joys of life with. If you're looking for a sweet, snuggly best friend who loves the couch as much as you do, Sadie’s your girl. Apply to adopt Sadie today at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!June 11, 2025, 9:23 am
