Story
Meet Fred! This beautiful blonde brindle boy is a dachshund mix with an enviable coat and physique! Fred is 3 years old and weighs 12lbs. Fred came to us heartbroken after being abandoned in a house without any humans to take care of him. Luckily, lots of TLC gave him a full recovery! He is now healthy, playful, and affectionate. Fred loves to sit on your lap, give kisses, and receive belly rubs! He is quiet, house-trained, and crate-trained. Leash skills are a work in progress. Fred adores other dogs and children! He thrives in the company of a playful and confident dog. Fred is the best boy at the vet, in the car, and most of all, on your lap! This sweet and smart boy has a lot of love to give. Are you ready to receive it?!

Story
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Wiley! Unlike the coyote, I can relate to dynamite because although I maybe small, I leave a big impression, need to be handled with care, and I like to get down to business! As you hoomans like to say, dynamite comes in a small package! First of all, I have an existing back injury and do not have the use of my back legs, but I have my own set of wheels and am very comfortable using them to go on walks. Second, I need a home without children due to my demeanor, size, and before mentioned injury. Third, my big personality sometimes is me over compensating for being a little nervous. I do best with slow introduction. My love language is ball! I am currently between houses but temporarily I reside with 2 dogs and an ornery cat. I am looking for a permanent home that will advocate for me and take it slow if there are other creatures in the home. I would be an amazing only pet! I am pretty low energy and am really just looking for understanding and companionship. What do you say? ##1944910##

Story
Eloise will steal your heart with one look at her sweet face, and she will win you over with her loveable personality. Her favorite thing to do is to be cuddled and get belly rubs. She is super affectionate and loves everyone!  She will bring endless love and joy to her new family!  She would be best with someone who works from home/is home as Eloise likes to be inside and enjoys lots of affection and company.  Mature kids to play with would be a bonus and another playful pet would be great but isn't required; just make sure you will have plenty of time to play with Eloise as she has a lot of puppy energy. She is very playful and loves all kinds of toys.  A great big basket of toys that is bigger than her would be a dream for Eloise.  She can pick and choose and romp and run with whichever one she wants.  She shares her toys easily and is just a joy to be around.  She will bring out the inner child in anyone.  Eloise is still young, so she is looking for a family with someone home a good majority of the time to keep her on a good schedule to continue her potty training. She will need positive reinforcement training for basic queues to make sure she is a well behaved adult.  At her young age, it is the perfect time to use her sponge like brain to learn all kinds of new things plus she is food and treat motivated.  She is still working on perfecting crate time and does sleep in her crate at night time.  Little Eloise is part chihuahua, so she does "speak up" some but settles down fairly quickly. We think Eloise could be a good fit for almost any kind of home, condo, townhouse, or apartment as long as she has someone ready and willing to get her out on several walks which means working with her leash manners.  She isn't in love with her leash walking and will need someone to help her.  If it is a home with a fenced yard, it must be a solid fence (or VERY narrow spacing) with no gaps at the bottom, etc. because of her small size.  We would not want her to get out; safety #1 priority. Are you looking for a little gem of a dog and have the time and patience for puppy and adolescent years then maybe, just maybe Eloise is the one for you! As part of Eloise’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Eloise, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2065560##

Story
Gregory is ready to meet his paw-fect family!  He is a sweet, silly boy with a lot of panache!  He will win you over quickly because he's just a little social butterfly.  He loves everyone he meets and doesn't know what the word stranger means.  He has the cutest smile that will light up any room! He loves playing with his other furry doggie siblings and well-mannered kiddos!  It would be nice (but is not required) if his new family had 2-legged and 4-legged family members to play with since he is still a young and has a lot of puppy energy to burn off daily.  He loves to play and wants someone who enjoys being silly and goofy with him.  It will be a win-win and bring a smile to your lips and a joy to your hear!  Little Gregory loves to snuggle and cuddle on the sofa with you when he is worn out from playtime.  Make sure you have a little spot ready for him to get comfy in and take a great nap!   If you have a home with a fenced yard, it must be solid or very narrow slats and no gaps at the bottom, etc. With Gregory's small size he could slip through, and we want to make sure he is safe at all times.  With that in mind, little Gregory would be a pup that would be a good fit for an apartment, condo or townhome. Gregory has not been cat tested. Since he is still young, he is still working on potty training and will need someone who is working from home/home a majority of the time to keep him on routine to reinforce his schedule.  He is also working on crate training and sleeps in his crate at night. He is just learning about collars and leashes and is not a current fan of being on leash and/or going potty when on leash.  This will be something his new family will need to be very patient about and continue to positively work with him especially if there is no solid fencing. Are you now thinking, Gregory sounds like the paw-fect pup for you?  Well, you better fill out that application :)! As part of Gregory’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Benny, the furry bundle of joy who is ready to fill your life with love and laughter! With his boundless energy and affectionate nature, Benny is the perfect companion for anyone looking to add a little extra sunshine to their day. Benny's daily routine is as delightful as he is. He starts his day with a morning romp outside to do his business, followed by a hearty breakfast of 1/3 cup of food. After breakfast, he enjoys a refreshing 20-minute walk, making sure to explore every nook and cranny with his keen nose.  Are you ready for an adorable walking partner, because Benny is going to want one!  You will also need to be a little patient and be prepared to work with little Benny during one of favorite daily pastimes, becuase if he wants to keep smelling something while on his walk, he doesnt want to budge until he has thourougly "sniffed it out!!"  We are positively working with him on this. Throughout the day, Benny gets plenty of playtime and short activities, totaling around 1-2 hours, keeping his curious mind and active body happily engaged. Potty breaks are frequent, every 2-4 hours, ensuring no accidents indoors.  So Benny is looking for a family that has someone at home a good majority of the day, to continue his potty training.  He is too young to be left for long hours at a time.  At night, Benny settles into his crate with his brother, dreaming of the next day's adventures. Benny's ideal home is one where he can be the center of attention and receive endless love. He adores being around people and will happily snuggle up right next to you. Benny is a social butterfly, loving both kids and adults, and he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He actually will require another fun loving pup in his forever home to be his buddy. While he finds cats intriguing and will give chase, it's all in good fun. Benny might be little, but he has some bounce!  Who knew he could quickly and easily ascend almost anything; is he part Mountain Goat; we are not sure!?  He can literally jump on almost anything which includes desks, tables, window ledges, and even your kitchen counter. It definitely catches your attention, so a vigilant eye is needed to keep him safe. A fenced yard would be his dream come true, allowing him to explore freely without the risk of running off. If there is a fenced yard, it must be solid or very narrow slats and not gaps at the bottom, etc.  With his size, he could easily get out otherwise. Benny may not always come when called because he may be very enthralled with a smell, scent or action going on, so a secure, dog-proof yard or a consistent leash policy is a must. With his playful spirit, affectionate nature, and charming personality, Benny is more than ready to find his forever home. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bring endless joy to your life, Benny is the perfect match! As part of Benedict’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Benedict, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2065556##

Story
*** AVAILABLE ONSITE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY OR BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - email adoptions@savinggracenc.org to schedule *** Meet Willow, a sweet and spirited dog with a heart full of love. Willow does not seem to be able to hear and also has bilateral microphthalmia, which affects her vision as she is likely only able to discern areas of light or dark. With that being said, this little dachshund mix is able to navigate her world just fine - she eats well, loves treats, likes to ride in the car, can go up and down stairs unassisted, and enjoys chewing on bones without bothering the furniture. Willow is doing well on her housetraining and prefers the freedom to run loose in a securely fenced yard. She manages short leash walks. While in her foster home, she managed well with five dogs of various ages and sizes, but she would probably thrive best as the only dog or with a companion of a similar size. Willow is a relatively quiet gal, but likes to use her voice when playing with other dogs or if she needs your attention. Because she is not highly visual and cannot hear, Willow can be a little toy- and food-possessive at times, and would probably do best in an adult-only home. Willow does well entertaining herself with her toys and afterwards she is ready to snuggle. This gal is hoping for a patient and understanding adopter, as she is truly a sweet dog who is ready to shower her new family with affection and joy!
