Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello! My name's Ibar! Ibar is a charming little dog with a heart full of love. Despite a challenging start in life from a hoarding situation, he has proven to be resilient and sweet-natured. This adorable canine companion has a special affinity for toys and delights in playtime, especially with other dogs. Due to his past experiences, Ibar may initially appear shy, but underneath that hesitancy lies a gentle and affectionate soul. He is in the process of learning to trust and become more comfortable with people. Patience is key when interacting with Ibar, as he may take some time to warm up to new faces and situations. In the right environment, Ibar has the potential to blossom into a confident and happy pup. A caring and patient owner who understands his need for time and reassurance will be the perfect match for Ibar. With love and support, Ibar is sure to overcome his fears and embrace the joy that life has to offer. *He has had surgery for his cherry eyes twice but they have come back both times.*  You can apply to adopt our dogs at: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 19, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
Stevie is a 5-year-old, 10lbs Dachshund. Stevie was involved in a life-threatening accident that required major rehabilitation and therapy but has made such fantastic progress from being nearly paralyzed to able to run (and jump!). He has shown his foster mom how loving and sweet of a dog he is. Stevie loves being near his person and will dance around and twirls and gets so excited when his foster mom comes back home! He is crate trained, and even with his physical state his accidents inside are very minimal. When he first came to us, he was so incredibly fearful and skittish and has really blossomed but may still take some time to warm up.  Stevie would do best in a home with someone that is home often and would even really love another small dog in the home to hang out with. Because of his injury, he will need a home that minimizes his risk of getting hurt again. Stevie has been truly an inspirational story and would love to find his forever home. If you think he could be the dog for you, please apply today! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!March 12, 2025, 2:23 pm

Story
Sadie is a 5 year old, 20 lb. Wire-haired Terrier/Dachshund mix. Sadie came to the rescue very timid and shy. In her former life she lived in a busy, active home with many other dogs, and it was just too much for this sweet, calm little lady. With patience and love, she has opened up in her foster home and is enjoying being doted on by her foster mom. She would love to find a family where she can live the quiet life and either be your one and only or have a sweet doggie sibling to play with. She has excellent house manners and can be left alone without a crate while her foster mom is gone. She is completely house-trained too! She likes to go on walks and is good on a leash, but she is much more of an indoorsy-type and prefers the couch life. If you are looking for a movie buddy to snuggle up with this winter, Sadie is your girl! You bring the blankets and hot cocoa, and she will bring the love! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Boo Boo requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. PLEASE submit an application now at:   The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC          Miss Boo Boo is a very friendly and gets along fine with other dogs.  She is fostered with a pack of five other dogs.  While she does not actively interact with them, she acknowledges their presence and will push them aside so that she can receive pats from her humans. She loves her humans!!     She would do fine as an only dog or one of many. Her foster household does not have cats so we are not sure how she will get along with cats.  Her energy is low, she is such a couch potato!  She will lay with her head next to you and her eyes will look longing into yours as you pat her and show her affection.  The youngest child she has been around is 10 years old, but her temperament leads me to believe that she would do fine with children.  Boo Boo is food motivated but does not guard the resource. She does not need to be crated and does fine having free roaming privileges in her foster home. She is used to a fenced yard and would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard.   Boo Boo is an adorable grand lady that is looking for her forever home and would welcome the love and attention she so richly deserves.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Sadly, Boo Boo's owner passed away and she ended up in a rural shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in knowing that senior dogs are rarely adopted from shelters and she was at risk.  We are now trying to find a good home for her.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
