While she can be left alone without a crate, she truly prefers having another dog around to keep her company—though it’s not a requirement. She can be slightly skittish at first but warms up quickly—she was napping on her foster’s lap within 30 minutes of arriving home. Piper adores people, including men, and has no fear in that regard. She’s affectionate, playful, and loves to be involved in whatever her people are doing. As a classic dachshund, Piper does have some signature traits: she can bark at noises, needs regular potty breaks to prevent accidents, and has a stubborn streak.
