Meet Oscar 💙 Oscar is the other half of Meyer’s heart and the perfect complement to her confident personality. Around 8 to 9 years old, this handsome Dachshund man is true to his breed in all the best ways. He has that classic doxie charm, a little bit of sass, and plenty of opinions to share. Oscar is incredibly sweet and loves being close to his people. He is quite talkative and will happily let you know when it is time for attention, snacks, or snuggles. While Meyer may be the leader of the pair, Oscar is her devoted partner and thrives with her by his side. The two will need to be adopted together, as they truly bring out the best in one another. Oscar is still waiting to be neutered and have a dental, which will be taken care of through our clinic. Once that is completed, he will be ready to settle into a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by comfort, companionship, and plenty of cozy spots to nap. Herk is a 6-year-old red purebred dachshund (born October 29, 2019) who weighs about 15 pounds. He is neutered, calm, affectionate, and bonds closely with his people. We're rehoming Herk because our son's severe dog allergies have progressed despite every effort. He now spends too much time confined and deserves a home where he can roam freely and get the love he's used to. Herk has lived with another small dog and does best in a home with one other dog for companionship; he's not suited for a home with multiple dogs as he thrives on attention. He needs daily walks or activity. Herk had a liver shunt repaired in 2020 and back surgery in January 2025; both fully recovered. He needs standard dachshund back care: no jumping, limited stairs, no rough play. He eats The Farmer's Dog (turkey, beef, pork) twice daily with pumpkin. No chicken. Vet records available. We seek a calm, loving home where Herk will get the attention and companionship he thrives on.

Herk and Crow are a bonded pair who must be adopted together. Herk is a 6-year-old orange/white purebred dachshund (born October 29, 2019). Crow is an 8-year-old black Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix (born August 6, 2017). Both are neutered, around 15 pounds, and very affectionate. We're rehoming them because our son's severe dog allergies have progressed despite every effort. They now spend too much time confined and deserve a home where they can roam freely and get the love they're used to. Herk had a liver shunt repaired in 2020 and back surgery in January 2025; both fully recovered. He needs standard dachshund back care: no jumping, limited stairs, no rough play. Crow was rescued from abuse by large dogs; his tail is bent twice from those injuries and has several teeth removed. Both eat The Farmer's Dog (turkey, beef, pork) twice daily with pumpkin. No chicken. Crow must eat food of this consistency due to teeth Vet records available. We seek a calm, loving home with no large dogs

Charlotte and Biscuit are a bonded pair of Dachshunds. Charlotte is 12 years old and Biscuit is 10 years old. They were surrendered to Rico as their owner with advanced Alzheimer could no longer care for them. Both dogs were in bad shape. Rico has placed them in a foster home where they are getting the care they need to treat their skin issues, matted hair, ear infections and provide them with dental care. Both dogs are obese and need to lose weight. Despite their past, Biscuit and Charlotte are soaking up the love in their foster home. They are snuggling on the couch, playing with toys and getting along with other dogs and even kids. If you see this senior pair in your future, please apply at ricopetrecovery.org to meet them. The adoption fee for Charlotte is $200.
