Story
Meet Winston 🖤🐾 Winston is a small, black, long-haired dachshund mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for people. This little guy truly wants to be wherever everyone else is — if you’re moving rooms, Winston is right behind you. He adores kids, has gotten along well with other dogs, and would most likely be just fine with cats too. Winston is the definition of a social butterfly in a compact body. True to his dachshund roots, Winston loves to talk — he’ll happily share his thoughts, opinions, and daily commentary with you, especially if it means getting attention or joining the fun. He’s also got the practical stuff down: house trained and crate trained, making him an easy, well-mannered addition to a home. If you’re looking for a small dog with a huge heart, a lot to say, and an unwavering desire to be part of your world, Winston is ready to claim his spot by your side (and probably on your couch). 🖤

Story
Hi! I'm Stella Rose, a playful and smart Dachshund Blend puppy. Every day, I wake up ready to learn new tricks and explore with my boundless energy. I love solving puzzles and playing fetch. My ideal day? A fun training session followed by cuddles. I dream of a forever home where I can share all my love and joy. Adopting me means endless fun and a loyal friend forever. Let's make memories together!I'm spayed, weigh around 9lbs, current on vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, on heartworm prevention and microchipped, my adoption donation is $300. If you would be interested in adopting our address is 4 Commercial Ave Washington Court House Ohio. Our hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 2pm.These are abandoned street animals or unplanned litters, some of older age, and many with a shy temperament. Their prior history is sometimes unknown. We make every effort to check the basic health and personality of each animal.CAT:Every adoptable cat is currently vaccinated (FVRCPP), vaccinated for rabies (if 12 weeks or older), spayed/neutered, treated for worms, treated for fleas, micro-chipped and started on ear mite treatment (if required).DOG:Each adoptable dog/puppy is currently vaccinated (DHPP), vaccinated for rabies (if older than 16 weeks), treated for worms, treated for fleas, spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm (if over 6 months of age), micro-chipped and started on ear mite treatment (if required).Upon adoption you will be given a health record to take to your veterinarian. Adoption fees are typically $100.00 for kittens, $50 for cats and $300 for dogs/puppies unless otherwise stated. We accept cash or debit/ credit card only! These fees are subject to fluctuation, if deemed necessary, depending on season, amount of adoptable animals in our program, and/or breed of animal. The adoption fees help us recover a small portion of the money that we spend on these animals. Thank you so much for your interest in a shelter pet!!!

Story
Meet Highway Steve! This cute boy was found running on a main road for several days, refusing to let people rescue him. Finally he was hungry enough and had enough of living in the rain that he let someone snatch him up. When Steve made it to Adopt A Pit Rescue, his foster momma jumped into action, and got all his matted, wet, dirty and filth covered hair off him. And under all that was the most precious little boy! Steve is incredibly loyal, he is playful, great with other dogs, cats, kids and loves to be outside doing yard work. He currently lives on a farm where he follows his foster family everywhere. Never letting them out of his sight. He enjoys golf carts escorts on his bed and car rides. Steve is crate trained and is working really hard at potty training. We believe that Steve was an outside dog the entire first part of his life. But he is adjusting well and loves to lay in his people laps or snuggle under a nest of blankets. Steve is believed to be a Dachshund mix and 1-2 years old. He will make a very loving companion for any family! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 21, 2026, 10:44 pm
