Hi, I'm Chorizo and I'm ready to Rumba! I am a spicy little sausage, I mean, Dachshund/Rat Terrier mix. I'll be 2 years old in a few months. I love playing with dogs of all sizes. Some of my best friends are a 200 pound English Mastiff and a 90 pound Pitbull. I play with any dog that wants to be my friend! I'm a really good baby. I like both kids and adults. I'm great with going potty outside. I keep my crate clean and I sleep in my crate all night. Of course if you love to cuddle like I do, I would love to sleep in your bed with you. I love soft, fluffy blankets, a warm lap to take a nap on and treats, most especially cheese and peanut butter! Cats on the other hand are not friends. They too closely resemble the critters my ancestors were employed to chase out of barns and off farms. I think I'd do my ancestors proud if they could see how fast I can chase critters away! Sometimes loud noises or sudden movements scare me. Shhh! Don't tell the cats that part. It will destroy my reputation! Do you need a Tango partner? I'd love to be a part of your Familia!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Meet Highway Steve! This cute boy was found running on a main road for several days, refusing to let people rescue him. Finally he was hungry enough and had enough of living in the rain that he let someone snatch him up. When Steve made it to Adopt A Pit Rescue, his foster momma jumped into action, and got all his matted, wet, dirty and filth covered hair off him. And under all that was the most precious little boy! Steve is incredibly loyal, he is playful, great with other dogs, cats, kids and loves to be outside doing yard work. He currently lives on a farm where he follows his foster family everywhere. Never letting them out of his sight. He enjoys golf carts escorts on his bed and car rides. Steve is crate trained and is working really hard at potty training. We believe that Steve was an outside dog the entire first part of his life. But he is adjusting well and loves to lay in his people laps or snuggle under a nest of blankets. Steve is believed to be a Dachshund mix and 1-2 years old. He will make a very loving companion for any family! Yuma is a sweet little pup, but very shy when meeting new people. She warms up quickly though and just wants to play and give kisses. She traveled all the way from Texas with the hope of finding a wonderful family in the MidWest. Texas doesn’t have enough adopters for the amount of dogs they have. It’s such a problem that many wonderful dogs are being euthanized at extremely high rates. We were able to get Yuma and her brother out to safety the day they were scheduled to lose their lives. They have been through a lot in their short young lives, but they aren’t so bonded that they need to be adopted together. Yuma has been spayed, heart worm tested( negative), vaccinated, de wormed and microchipped.
