Story
Gilbert is a great companion and pet. He is a rescue who came from an abusive home. Because of this, he is slightly reactive. He needs time to warm up to people and doesn't like strangers touching him. Once he warms up though after a few days, he is the most friendly, loyal, and cute pet. He loves spending time outside - walks are his favorite - and enjoys chewing on bones and treats. Small kids present a threat to Gilbert, until he's fully warmed up. The sudden movement of children can cause him to be guarded and reactive. A good trainer and a patient owner can manage his triggers well. Ideally I'd love to see him in a home that will be attentive to his needs with plenty of time for walks. Gilbert is 10 years old and is about 18 pounds. His adoption will come with plenty of food, crate, extra bed, multiple leashes and harnesses, shampoo, and cleaners.

Story
Meet Odie! Odie is a 1 year old, 16 pound, red colored Dachshund. Odie is a very friendly and happy guy who lives with dogs of all sizes, cats and a toddler. Odie's ideal environment will be with at least 1 other dog who is very playful and can match Odie's energy. When he's ready to rest after play, Odie loves cuddling on the couch. His love language is physical touch! While Odie lives with a toddler, like any small dog, he certainly  doesn't love being  quickly approached by a litle one, but he does appreciate slow greetings and gentle pets. As a breeder surrender, we don't know what his life was like prior to coming to 405AR, but we did get him crate trained quickly (for food, of course!), but currently he is not yet leash trained. He does not directly potty in the home, however he occasionally will leave a dribble where he sits. Odie will be best suited in a home without stairs due to the increased  risk of IVDD and other spinal problems that do occur in Dachshunds. We prefer anybody who is interested in Odie to have Dachshund experience or education, be a life long companion to him, and be educated about and aware of additional  common breed health concerns that may arise.      ##2195158##
