Story
This precocious guy is Rascal! Rascal is an approximately 2-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix and he weighs around 16 lbs. He was rescued from a neglectful situation. He is playful, affectionate, and smart! He is very treat motivated. Rascal is working on basic commands like "sit", "stay", and "come", and making great progress! He is precocious and like his name, he can be a bit of a "rascal" at times, which just adds to his charm! Rascal is good with female dogs, kids and cats but no male dogs in the home. He would love a home where he is included in activities and shown lots of love. He deserves it! He does require a securely fenced back yard. His goofy and playful demeanor will surely win over your heart and he's waiting to give you all of his love! Rascal is crate and leash-trained and is mostly house-trained (he may have accidents at first as he adjusts to a new environment). Rascal is neutered, current on vaccines, HW negative, current on heartworm preventative and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225. To adopt Rascal, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org to apply.

Meet Max. Max is an approximately 8 year old Dachshund mix who weighs 12 lbs. He was rescued from a neglectful situation. Max had a horrible eye injury when we got him. He has been treated by an animal eye specialist and has received a clean bill of health and ready for adoption. Max loves people and would love to have his own person/family that will include him in activities and give him lots of love. He is ready to settle down an enjoy life. Max is good with other dogs (or as an only dog) and cats. He has not been around children since we have had him. Max is crate, house and leash trained. He loves a really soft bed and blankets in his crate and he will sleep all night! Max is neutered, current on vaccines, HW negative, current on heartworm preventative and microchipped.. His adoption fee is $225. To adopt Max, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
Meet/Adopt Benedict — The Dashing, Deaf Dachshund! Benedict is a 1-year-old Dachshund mix whose ears may not work, but whose heart absolutely does. Deaf but undeterred, Benedict is a happy little guy who’s full of spunk, affection and classic doxie charm. His Favorite Things? 🐶 Dog friends his size – instant playmates! Benedict loves to play chase and wrestle with his canine friends! 🧸 Toys– small dog, small toys, big fun! 🥰 Cuddles with his person – he’ll snooze next to you all night or join you for a good TV binge. ☀️ Sunbathing on the porch – the sun is his happy place. House/Crate Training: Benedict is doing great with his potty training and just needs a little more structure, routine, patience, and time to be 100%. He’s almost there and tries really hard! Benedict is getting better about accepting his crate when needed but will still try to convince you to come get him out for a few minutes! Personality: Benedict is affectionate, playful and true to his breed—spunky, clever and loyal. Benedict mirrors the mood of his people and is happiest when he’s close to them, whether that’s following you around the house or snoozing right beside you. Special Needs: Deaf? Yes. Difficult? Not at all. Benedict doesn’t need special accommodations—just love, patience, and someone who understands that being deaf doesn’t mean being different. Ready to Meet Your New Best Friend? Benedict is neutered, current on vaccines, HW negative, current on heartworm prevention and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225. To adopt Benedict go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.
