Story
Tally is a sweet and funny dog.  She was found running down a dirt road in Talaquah with her companion Oakley.  They were both in pretty bad shape.  With time, good food and care they are ready to find new homes.  Taly is a standard Dachshund so a bit bigger than most think a dachshund should be.  She is smart and listens pretty well.  She is good with other dogs, and seems to ignore cats.October 9, 2026, 6:19 pm

Story
**A little older, a little slower, and looking for a whole lot of love! ** Meet Sexy Lady! This precious senior Dachshund is estimated to be around 10–12 years old, and she's hoping to find a special someone to spend her golden years with! Sexy Lady is mostly blind, with just enough vision to distinguish light, darkness, and some movement. Because of her limited eyesight, navigating the world can be a little confusing for this sweet girl. Without a safe, familiar space, she tends to wander and can easily get lost, even inside the house! But Sexy knows exactly what she likes in life! Delicious dinners, big stuffed toys, cozy afternoon naps, and most importantly, being close to her people! She's perfectly content curled up in your lap while you work or watch TV, and she loves a good nap on the bed with her favorite human. Lady also does well in a crate and actually sleeps better in one! Having a secure, comfortable space helps keep her safe and gives her a place to relax without worrying about navigating her surroundings. **We're looking for a very special forever home for this little lady.** Ideally, someone who works from home, is retired, or spends most of their time at home and can give Sexy the extra attention and supervision she needs. Because of her limited vision, she'll need a patient family willing to help her navigate safely and make sure she doesn't accidentally wander into danger. Sexy Lady may not be able to see the world around her very well, but she still has so much love to give. She doesn't need grand adventures or a busy household. Just a safe place to land, a warm lap to curl up in, and someone who will love her through her golden years. **Could you be the person who makes the rest of Sexy Lady's life the very best of her life? ** Sexy Lady is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and her adoption fee is $100. Story
Meet Rita! The Tiny Senior With a BIG Personality! Don’t let those senior years fool you! Rita may be estimated to be 12–14 years old, but this spunky little girl still has plenty of sass, silliness, and zoomies left in her! Rita was found as a stray in Tulsa and taken to the shelter, where she was rescued by 405 Animal Rescue. Now she’s ready to find the forever family she deserves! Dog-friendly? Absolutely! Cat-friendly? You bet! Kid-friendly? Yes! Potty trained? You betcha! And don’t even get us started on dinner time! Rita may be missing all her teeth, but that certainly doesn’t stop her from eating like a champ. When food is involved, this girl means business! Rita is full of surprises. Want to catch her? GOOD LUCK! This silly little lady will have you chasing her around and laughing before you know it. She loves to run, play, and be goofy, but she also knows how to slow down and enjoy a cozy, relaxing day. Whether you have a busy household full of adventures or a quieter home with plenty of time for snuggles, Rita is ready to fit right in. She has the energy to keep up with an active lifestyle but is just as happy to curl up and relax. Her biggest requirement? Being with her person. Rita doesn’t care how many birthdays she’s celebrated. She’s still full of life, love, and personality, and she’s ready to spend her golden years being someone’s very special girl. Ready to give this silly senior her happily ever after? Apply to adopt Rita through 405 Animal Rescue. Visit 405animalrescue.org to learn more and start your application!   ##2853015##

Story
"Holly" is a 2.5 - 3 year old tricolor Dachshund mix who is unfortunately considered hospice. When she arrived to us from another shelter, we immediately determined that she had a heart murmur that is rated 5/6. Due to the high expenses ($10,000 at least) and the chances of survival is not in her favor, the best decision was to give "Holly" the best quality of life as possible. We have her on a medication to help her heart production and good quality low sodium food. She came in with her sister (we believe) "Molly" and we will not be separating them. They kennel together, eat together, play together, and really do enjoy each other. Amazingly, "Holly" shows absolutely no obvious signs of her condition. She is happy, active, and besides the heart murmur, very healthy. We would love to see "Holly" and "Molly" out of the kennels into a loving home where nothing but good days for "Holly." She would be considered a hospice foster to whomever opens their heart and home to her and her sister. Come visit them in the kennels Thursday and Friday 12 pm - 4 pm, and Saturdays 12 pm - 3 pm.
