Meet Tucker! Tucker is a 9-year-old Dachshund mix (maybe with some Beagle!) who’s the definition of a chill, loyal companion. He’s about 20 lbs, crate, potty, and leash trained, and great with dogs, cats, and kids. This cuddly guy just wants to be near his person, snoozing beside you, tagging along on errands, or soaking up attention. He’s confident around bigger dogs but not afraid to give them a grumpy old-man warning if they get too close. Tucker’s calm, gentle nature makes him an easy dog to take anywhere - no barking, no fuss. He does have a small fatty lump near his belly (non-cancerous) that may be removed during his upcoming dental. Whoever adopts him is getting a total gem! He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Tucker is currently being fostered in South Carolina. Meet Lyle! Lyle was brought into the local shelter from the emergency vet after being found. Likely hit by a car, he had a fractured pelvic bone which healed with crate rest. He was found to be HW positive and is almost done with his treatment, which also requires crate rest... Lyle is not impressed with crate rest! He wants to RUN! Run, run, run and then snuggle! He likes to play chase with other higher-energy dogs and will need an active home to take him on daily sniffy walks, hikes, and fun, active things once his HW crate rest is over. His last HW treatment is scheduled for 8/18, and he should be off crate rest for 30 days after that. Lyle is a SHORT stack. He is only 32 pounds and about 24 inches in length. He takes up even less space in the bed when he curls up to sleep under the covers in a ball. He also likes to chew on antlers and shred fluffy toys to bits. Lyle would make a great family pet for an active family who would take him everywhere and work on his recall. Lyle is an escape artist, and he finds the big, wide world way more interesting than crate rest. Learning to wait at doorways will be a necessity! Cherry is a sweet little Dachshund mix looking for a second chance. Several years ago, Cherry was adopted from CARE and loved by her owner for many happy years. Sadly, her owner recently passed away, and Cherry ended up loose and scared, running around on her own for several days before animal control was finally able to safely catch her. The moment we learned she was there, we went and brought her back into CARE. Despite everything she has been through, Cherry has been so resilient. She is now fully vetted, vaccinated, and safe. She also came in with a hurt paw, but it is healing wonderfully, and she is already running around on it and doing great! - Dachshund mix - Fully vetted & vaccinated - Paw healing well - Adoption fee: $150 Adoption fee includes vaccines, deworming, started on heartworm meds, spay or neuter, vet check, microchip.
