Story
Hi! I’m Matt. I’m the sweetest boy and love everyone in my foster home, including dogs of all sizes. Unfortunately I am not good with kids. I’m only 1 years old, a purebred wirehair dachshund and I love to run around and play. I used to live outside in a pen but now I LOVE being warm and snuggly inside my foster home. I love snuggling especially. I am working on my house training and crate training but could benefit from some more consistent training with that. Foster mom says I’m doing really good catching on. I’m even using her doggy door. I’m neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, on simparica trio for heartworm and flea prevention and dewormed. If you are interested in adding me to your family please fill out this link:https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SGVJMGQY . My adoption fee is $500. December 21, 2025, 8:04 pm

He had belonged to the elderly parent and was allowed to run the house therefore picked up some bad habits. So, with our help he has gotten some manners but will need to go to an experienced dachshund owner. He came in over weight but we have gotten him down some but he may need to lose another pound or two. He really is a sweet happy boy. He loves to be outside and will do zoomies out in the yard in the morning. We do know that he does not like going to the vet to get his nails trimmed so a muzzle would have to be used. We also know that he doesn’t care for strangers so new people coming into the home would have to be made aware of this and not just walk in. We think a quieter home would be best for him with few visitors but getting him out for walks or taking him to PetMart would be great for him. If you are looking for a standard then here is your chance. Please help Luke find his last forever home. our must haves for Luke: a fenced in yard a quieter home can be an only dog or another small adult dog only adult children 14 yrs plus no apartments, high rises or condos ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

Meet Tuukka and Rocky!  Tuuka and his friend Rocky came to us when their owner passed away recently. They are both very sweet boys and love dogs and kids. Tuuka likes to bark at his kitty friends. Tuuka is about 11 or 12 years old and Rocky is about 8-9 years old. They are both very easy going boys. They are mostly housetrained and love to snooze all day on the dog bed. They are both neutered, microchipped, up to date vaccines and heartworm prevention as well as had a dental cleaning with many needed extractions as of December 10th. Their adoption fee is $650 for both him and Rocky Please use this link for the application to be approved for adoption: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SGVJMGQYDecember 12, 2025, 10:28 am

Story
Meet Tucker! Tucker is a 9-year-old Dachshund mix (maybe with some Beagle!) who’s the definition of a chill, loyal companion. He’s about 20 lbs, crate, potty, and leash trained, and great with dogs, cats, and kids.   This cuddly guy just wants to be near his person, snoozing beside you, tagging along on errands, or soaking up attention. He’s confident around bigger dogs but not afraid to give them a grumpy old-man warning if they get too close.   Tucker’s calm, gentle nature makes him an easy dog to take anywhere - no barking, no fuss. He does have a small fatty lump near his belly (non-cancerous) that may be removed during his upcoming dental.   Whoever adopts him is getting a total gem!   He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Tucker is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT TUCKER! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit. November 16, 2025, 1:34 pm
