Story
Bridgerton's most finest says, "Have you no sense? It is treasonous to interrupt my beauty sleep. You’re lucky my face is a rare jewel. If I could still have people beheaded, you would be in the que,". She may be a little sassy but she has every right to be. She is getting to live like a queen! - Queen CharlotteQueen Charlotte came to us from an area shelter with a large mass on the top of her head. She was seen by one of our vets who found the mass to be consistent with a malignant sarcoma (cancer). There is no cure so we will treat her like the queen she is and ensure she has a good quality of life for however much time she may have. Currently she is happy, sassy, playful, and eating and drinking well so we are evaluating the possibility of a surgical procedure to debulk the tumor and make it a little more comfortable. It doesn’t slow her down one bit, but because it has invaded her nasal passages she snorts and occasionally drips blood from her nose. No big deal though because foster mom designed her house specifically to handle hospice dogs with all sorts of ailments when she was building it. Queen Charlotte IS available for adoption and deserves a loving home for her remaining days!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Meet Dexter Morgan, a distinguished 12-year-old, 22-pound wire-haired Dachshund who was rescued just in time from another shelter. Now, this charming gentleman is ready to find his perfect forever home. Don’t let his age fool you—Dexter is full of spunk and energy! He loves playing in the yard with his favorite toy and brings a big personality wherever he goes. Dexter does tend to resource guard his possessions, including his favorite human and toy. Due to this behavior, he would do best in a single-dog, adult only home with just one owner, where he can feel secure and relaxed. While Dexter isn’t comfortable around kids or other dogs, he makes up for it with his loyal, playful, and loving nature. He’s looking for a special person who will appreciate his quirks and provide him with the care and attention he deserves in his golden years. If you’re seeking a fun, devoted companion to share your life with, Dexter could be your perfect match! Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022
