Story
Scampy is a 16.5-year-old Dachshund/Corgi mix with a little body, a big personality, and so much love to give! This sweet senior is looking for a cozy retirement home where he can enjoy leisurely walks, plenty of attention, and lots of couch cuddles. After losing his person and ending up in a shelter, Scampy is ready for a fresh start. He may take a minute or two to warm up, but once he does, he’ll happily follow you from room to room. He’s silly, affectionate, loves snacks, and even jumps for treats. And did we mention he’s toothless? That just makes his adorable little face even more charming!Scampy gets along well with dogs and cats and is crate trained. He’s still working on house training but is making good progress. Because small children can be unpredictable and overwhelming for him, he’d do best with older kids (12+) or adults. If you’re looking for a low-key little companion to share your days and your couch, Scampy may be your perfect match!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Zoey belonged to my father in law, but he’s moving into a nursing home. We’d keep her, but we can’t have pets at our place, and we just had a baby so it’s unfortunately just not in the cards for us right now. We’re hoping to find a good, quiet home that she can spend the rest of her life in. She’s ten years old, and she’s a sweet girl. She’s always lived with another dog and with some cats off and on. She hasn’t had much experience around kids, but she’s done really well around ours in the time she’s been with us. She’s had a couple of acl surgeries, but she’s fully mobile. We’ve noticed that she sometimes needs a little help getting down from a couch, but she does pretty well overall. She’s always been an indoor dog and she came to us from Arizona, where she didn’t have any grass to really run around in, but she’s been absolutely loving roaming around our backyard and rolling around the grass. We hate to see her go but hope she can find someone that can love her as much as we do!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Franz may look like a little hot dog bun with bunny ears, but this adorable Chiweenie puppy has a whole lot of personality packed into his 13-pound frame! Around 6 months old, Franz is a sweet, affectionate boy who is still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He’s naturally shy with strangers and can be a little nervous in new situations, so he’ll do best with a patient family committed to continuing his socialization and helping him build confidence. Once he trusts you, though, Franz is an expert cuddler who loves to hop into your lap and soak up attention. If given the choice, he’d happily spend his nights snuggled under the covers with his favorite person. Franz is athletic, playful, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes. He loves a good play session and would enjoy having a confident canine companion to show him the ropes. He’s currently learning leash manners, knows how to sit, and is doing great with potty training—he’s almost got it mastered. Like many Chiweenies, Franz has a stubborn streak and likes to make his own decisions from time to time, which only adds to his charm. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night, though he’s quick to let you know when he’d rather be out spending time with his people during the day. In fact, he will bark for quite a long time if crated during the day, so would do best in a home where he’s not spending a lot of time alone. Because he’s still a bit nervous around small children, a home with older, dog-savvy kids or adults would likely be the best fit. If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick who will reward your patience with endless snuggles, silly antics, and unconditional love, Franz might be your perfect match.  Apply to meet Franz at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 1, 2026, 5:50 pm

Story
We are needing to re-home our sweet Tempe. She has had a hard time adjusting to life with a toddler and we just haven’t been able to give her the love and attention she deserves. Tempe is 13 years old and is needing a home without any younger kids and possibly other pets (it might take a little for her to warm up to other pets). All she wants to do is curl up in a blanket and snuggle with you. Please reach out with any questions.
