Story
Meet Foxie! She was actually rescues by two staff members in pt. Richmond with her baby and the dad. They all went to CCAS and foxie was the last one who needed a home, so Milo pulled her! So far she is sweet once she warms up and she is still learning the basics of the world. She would do well with owners who have experience with dogs and ideally adults only as she can be a bit nervous with too much going on. She walks well on leash.

Story
Wilma is a sweet, smart, attentive pup who's ready for her forever home! She's eager to learn and picks up on new things quickly, she makes great eye contact and listens to her people. She's already house trained and is picking up on crate training quickly with her foster's guidance. She's respectful and gentle and waits to be invited onto the couch for snuggles. It takes her a little time to settle into a new environment, but after just a couple of days in her loving foster home, she's been rolling over for belly rubs and scritches. Wilma loves water and all forms of activities! She will make a great trail companion and her recall and obedience will be great with some more consistency. She would love a home with a confident dog who can be a role model and show her the ropes of family life. If you are a person or a family with plenty of time to engage and have stimulating activities and enrichment to enjoy with an athletic, clever sidekick, Wilma is sure to please and be a fun addition!!

Story
Meet Elliot, an adventurous and playful pup looking for an active home where he can learn, play, and grow! Personality and TemperamentElliot is bold, curious, and full of personality. He’s always alert to what’s happening around him—especially if there’s a squirrel or bird nearby. He enjoys being near his people and is learning to relax more during downtime. Elliot loves praise, is very food-motivated, and responds well to consistent training. Elliot is crate-trained and settles well when left alone Exercise and Activity RequirementsElliot is an energetic, athletic dog who thrives on daily activity. He enjoys a 2-mile walk each morning, plenty of yard play, and short bursts of high-energy fun like wrestling and chasing the flirt pole. He also loves using his nose for scent games and tracking. Elliot does best with both physical and mental enrichment and would make a great companion for an active person or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. Other Dogs and AnimalsElliot has been making good progress with his social skills around other dogs. He’s generally neutral after the initial excitement and settles quickly once given space. In tighter situations, he may give a small warning to communicate his boundaries. Elliot could live with a well-matched, respectful dog, but due to his high prey drive, a home without small animals would be best. Training Elliot has been working on his basic cues like sit and down and even picked up a few tricks such as spin. He recently tried bikejoring and did great—showing how much he enjoys having a job and staying active. The Ideal Home for ElliotElliot would do best with an active adopter who enjoys keeping their dog physically and mentally engaged. He’d be a great fit for someone experienced with energetic breeds and committed to positive training. He’ll benefit from an adopter who can help him continue building confidence around other dogs. A home without small animals is best. Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Elliot's been up to, check out his posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Meet Libby! Libby is a sweet, loving 4-year-old girl who’s ready to find her forever family. She has plenty of the wonderful traits people love in a German Shorthaired Pointer, along with her own unique personality that makes her extra special. Exercise & Activity Libby is an active dog who gets daily exercise and thrives when she’s outdoors. She currently enjoys a 3-mile walk through steep hills every day, plus a weekly free run on a 10-acre ranch where she can stretch her legs until she’s completely tuckered out. She’ll need an adopter who can give her consistent exercise and space to enjoy her GSP energy. Leash Manners On leash, Libby has made great progress. With a gentle lead, she walks nicely and doesn’t pull as much as she used to. She’s learning to manage her excitement around wildlife—she’s calmer with deer and turkeys now, though squirrels still get her attention! Personality & Temperament Libby greets everyone with a happy tail wag that moves her whole body. She’s relaxed and gentle with people of all ages, from babies to older adults. She doesn’t jump up or get rowdy, making her a wonderful companion for families or households with children. Other Dogs & Animals Libby takes some time to warm up to other dogs. At first, she can be defensive – once she feels safe, she settles down and generally ignores them. With patience and continued socialization, she’ll learn that not every dog is a threat. She has also improved around livestock—while goats used to get her barking and worked up, she now passes them with little reaction. Home Alone & Training Libby is calm and well-behaved when left alone. She goes to her bed and naps until her people come back. She’s crate-trained, housetrained, and continues to make steady progress with her manners. That said, Libby will benefit from ongoing training, especially with off-leash reliability and socialization around other dogs. She’s smart and eager to please, so with consistency, she’ll continue to grow into an even more well-rounded companion. The Ideal Home for Libby Libby will do best in an active home that can provide her with daily exercise and opportunities to explore. She’d love a family who enjoys hiking, walking, or spending time outdoors. A home where she’s the only dog—or with patient adopters committed to her continued dog socialization—would suit her best. In return, you’ll get a loving, gentle, and loyal companion who’s happiest by your side. If you’re ready for tail wags, outdoor adventures, and a devoted new friend, Libby may be the perfect match for you! Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Libby's been up to, check out her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs.
