Story
Meet Oreo – A Loving Dalmatian Looking for Her Forever Family    Name: Oreo Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Dalmatian Weight: 19 kg (42 lbs) Height: 55 cm (22 in)   Rescue Story   Oreo was brought to a municipal shelter with numerous wounds covering her body, and sadly, part of her tail had become necrotic due to untreated injuries. Despite everything she has been through, she has never lost her love for people and continues to greet the world with an incredibly happy heart.    Personality with People   If you’re looking for a dog who absolutely adores people, Oreo is your girl.   She loves everyone—family, friends, and complete strangers alike. She happily walks up to new people, leans against them for affection, squeezes between their legs for cuddles, and often asks to be hugged even during a first meeting. She loves both men and women and is so trusting that she’ll happily roll over to show her belly to someone she’s just met.   She can easily be picked up by placing an arm under her belly and is always eager to receive love and attention.    Dog Social Skills   Oreo is extremely social with other dogs and is always excited to make new friends. She eagerly approaches unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   The only catch? She doesn’t always realize when another dog isn’t interested!   Smaller dogs, in particular, sometimes find her enthusiasm overwhelming, but Oreo simply keeps trying to convince them to join the fun. If another dog won’t play with her, she’ll often bark as if saying, “Come on, let’s play!”   She has no aggression toward other dogs and tends to avoid conflict even if another dog challenges her. She generally gets along best with dogs of similar size who enjoy active play, and she especially loves energetic playmates who are happy to wrestle and run around together.    Cats   When Oreo sees cats during walks, she watches them out of curiosity but follows her handler without issue when redirected.    Energy Level   Oreo has a moderate energy level, but as a Dalmatian, she’ll thrive with an active family that can provide regular exercise and mental enrichment.   She enjoys walks, running, and outdoor adventures, but once she’s had enough activity, she settles down nicely indoors and enjoys long naps.   Oreo is genetically deaf, which is not uncommon in Dalmatians. She has adapted well to her condition and lives a happy, confident life. In fact, because she can’t hear surrounding noises, she’s quite a sound sleeper!   Her future family should be willing to communicate through visual cues, hand signals, and consistent routines.    Walking   Oreo is an experienced walker who generally stays with her handler without excessive pulling. She may occasionally pull toward something that catches her interest, but she remains manageable and responsive.   She also loves to run and would enjoy an active lifestyle.    Additional Information   Very food motivated but does not guard food from people or other dogs. Vocal when she wants to play with other dogs that won’t include her. May bark to ask for attention when she wants to reach people but is blocked by a door or barrier. Rides quietly in a kennel, although she may bark if she sees people and wants to come out. Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination.   Oreo’s joyful personality is truly infectious. She has an enormous heart, loves everyone she meets, and simply wants to be included in whatever her people are doing. She would be a wonderful companion for an active family that appreciates an affectionate, playful, and incredibly loving dog.   Could Oreo be the missing spot in your family? Story
Atlas showed up on our front porch as a 8-10 week old stray puppy. Atlas is Dalmatian (50%) + GSD (~30%) + Sib. Husky (~20%) mix and therefore is brilliant, driven and loyal. He thrives with a lot of exercise and stimulation, area to roam and play (large, fenced in yard/land) and someone that can give him strong leadership, direction and boundaries. He also has a keen prey drive and loves to hunt/eat gophers. Atlas is great around most people and dogs (good on leash/at parks), however Atlas struggles with resource guarding food and has grown to be territorial his home/bed. We have worked with multiple trainers but Atlas still displays occasional aggressive behaviors that we can no longer manage in our highly social home (happy to disclose his full record of incidents). Atlas needs someone who has a lot of experience training/managing reactive dogs, ideally lives without kids or small dogs (Atlas is not a "family dog") and can give him all the guidance and love he deserves.

Story
Rumi came to us from the OC shelter, abandoned and loved. She was spayed, chipped, potty and crate trained, and is now UTD on vax. She is smart as a whip, stubborn and mischievous when she so desires, but is the sweetest Dal gal I've come across. She does well with non-submissive dogs, and loves playing with ones 37-70lbs. She instantly falls in love and you become her everything. Rumi aims to please and understands immediately if she needs correcting. Her best traits are her waist-high hugs and entire face kisses. When you begin to wake up, she immediately straddles you and kisses your face, neck, ears, anything she can touch.

This pet is part of the rehoming program and is not in the care of the CCSPCA. Please read carefully and reach out to the owner directly via cell: 559-513-3493 or email:kwerzinski16@gmail.com . The owner states, “Violet is currently living with another cat and a 5 year old and does well with both! She loves to run and play with other dogs and with people. I’m looking to rehome her because my son and I had to move into a smaller apartment and I have to work a lot leaving me little time to make sure she has the exercise that she needs to have a happy healthy life. ” Due to the pet not being in our care, it is out of our control when and if the owner responds to your inquiry. Thank you.

Story
Location: Sacramento, CASay hi to UnoAt approximately 8 months old, Uno is a beautiful Dalmatian with a one-of-a-kind look and an even sweeter personality. She lost part of one ear before coming into rescue, but it doesn't affect her hearing and only makes her more adorable.Uno was abandoned by her previous owner and is now learning what it means to be part of a family. After spending much of her life outdoors, she's discovering the joys of air conditioning, soft beds, and afternoon naps. She loves being active, but she's also starting to appreciate a comfy place to relax.Uno is very shy with people but has never shown aggression, and she is making wonderful progress in foster care. To help her continue building confidence, Uno must be adopted into a home with a confident canine companion and a securely fenced yard. We are recommending an adult-only home at this time.About Uno:Loves other dogsHears normallyUses a doggy door consistentlyCrate trained for sleeping and mealsUp to date on vaccinesAvailable for adoption in late June/early July after she has been spayedUno is still learning how to live in a home and be someone's beloved companion. She is looking for a special home that understands trust takes time and is willing to give her the patience, kindness, and consistency she needs to continue building confidence. Please copy & past the link below into your browser for our Application:https://www.jotform.com/form/243374218477059Questions?Email us at: info@savethedals.org**Disclaimer: None of our dogs have been DNA tested, so we cannot guaranty they are 100% full pure breeds.**

Story
*available in mid-August when her puppies are 8-weeks-old* Daphne is a 2.5 year old Dalmatian mama dog who is currently raising and nursing her litter of puppies, showing just how nurturing and attentive she is. She carries herself with a calm, gentle presence and has a naturally sweet, loving personality that makes her easy to be around. With people, Daphne is soft and affectionate. Once she gets her pets and rubs, she’s perfectly content to settle in and just enjoy the moment by your side. She’s relaxed, mellow, and easy going, the kind of steady, comforting dog who brings a peaceful energy into any home.
