Story
Meet Maxine, a lively 9-month-old Dalmatian mix with a whole lot of heart and even more enthusiasm! This spotted sweetheart is an active, playful pup who loves being part of whatever's going on-whether that's a walk, a game, or simply following you around to see what you're up to. If there's fun to be had, Maxine wants in!Like any bright young dog, she'll thrive with positive-reinforcement training, structure, and consistency. She's eager to learn, eager to please, and already showing just how smart she is. With a little guidance (and some treats, of course), she'll blossom into an incredible companion. Story
Meet Foxie! She was actually rescues by two staff members in pt. Richmond with her baby and the dad. They all went to CCAS and foxie was the last one who needed a home, so Milo pulled her! So far she is sweet once she warms up and she is still learning the basics of the world. She would do well with owners who have experience with dogs and ideally adults only as she can be a bit nervous with too much going on. She walks well on leash.

Story
Wilma is a sweet, smart, attentive pup who's ready for her forever home! She's eager to learn and picks up on new things quickly, she makes great eye contact and listens to her people. She's already house trained and is picking up on crate training quickly with her foster's guidance. She's respectful and gentle and waits to be invited onto the couch for snuggles. It takes her a little time to settle into a new environment, but after just a couple of days in her loving foster home, she's been rolling over for belly rubs and scritches. Wilma loves water and all forms of activities! She will make a great trail companion and her recall and obedience will be great with some more consistency. She would love a home with a confident dog who can be a role model and show her the ropes of family life. If you are a person or a family with plenty of time to engage and have stimulating activities and enrichment to enjoy with an athletic, clever sidekick, Wilma is sure to please and be a fun addition!!

Please call (650) 340-7022 for assistance. I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Remi was a joy to handle today during our tour of Robert E. Woolley State Park in Burlingame. We started with a short walk around the building before Remi hopped into the back seat of my car as soon as I opened the door. Upon arrival at the park, the landscaping crew was hard at work with leaf blowers and zero-turn riding mowers zipping around, but Remi showed no signs of discomfort or sensitivity to the noise. We walked a lap around the lagoon, and when we reached the bridge over the inlet, Remi was initially hesitant to cross, possibly due to the wooden planking or the sensation of walking above water. However, she quickly gained confidence and followed me across the bridge, glancing over the edge to observe the water below several times. Along our walk, Remi encountered a variety of other dogs, from a small Shih Tzu to a large Bernese Mountain Dog. She passed each one politely, without pulling, and ignored the vocal dogs, consistently staying by my side. On the fishing pier, she was again uncertain about stepping onto the decking, but after testing the surface with one paw, she confidently proceeded. We spent some time in a grassy area where Remi calmly watched people walk, jog, and enjoy time with their dogs nearby.  On the ride back to Lantos, Remi enjoyed the sights and smells with her nose out the window, perfectly relaxed. Throughout our outing, she was well-behaved and displayed excellent manners.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
