We have a 2-year-old pitbull/doberman mix who we need help re-homing immediately due to financial strain and loss of our home. We are not able to take him to stay with us at our families home. He is a sweet boy and is very protective of his family. He does have a few behavioral issues and needs a bit of extra training with new people and dogs. He would be a good fit for a young, single person or couple with a bit of extra time and patience. He has LOTS of energy and loves to play fetch and tug with a rope. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Please reach out ASAP if seriously interested.

Story
BEAUTY & BRAINS.... Violet is seeking a home (with a nice turf or grassy yard) with a new person or people can continue her basic training. She's SO smart -- her (very temporary) foster mom taught her this treat-patience in just eight minutes. Violet recently lost her home (2 year old female dobi on the right, 67 pounds) and she needs a family and home to call her own. Her people should be around more than away, a little experienced so they will continue her training, and ready to love her for all her years. She loves to play fetch, rides in the car absolutely perfectly, is housebroken, and would enjoy a compatible doggy play-pal to romp and play in the yard. She is young and has energy so her new people should have time to interact with her and give her plenty of playtime. Violet needs a foster home, but she is fully vetted, health checked, and updated on vaccines -- ready for adoption. If interested in adopting, please email to request an adoption application. Adoption fee is $350 -- includes her crate, collar and tag, harness and leash. Estimated DOB 4/3/2023

Story
Rafiki is a special 4 year old Doberman. She has Megaesophagus, which means food has difficulty getting from her mouth to her stomach. Rafi will need to eat upright for the rest of her life, ideally in a Bailey chair. She is able to drink normally without the chair. For treats, she uses a Lickety Stik. She will require equally as special parents, dedicated to her feeding needs. This sweetheart has a ton of puppy energy, and plays just like a normal Doberman. She will need activity and structure like any youngster. Gentle and playful, Rafiki does well with other large and medium dogs. She also loves youngsters and is eligible for adoption to families with children. Rafiki loves to camp, hike, and adventure with her foster family. She attends local vet schools to teach them about her special needs, and is a local celebrity. Rafiki has even attended a camp for special needs children. Photos by #dhdrron of #dhdrRafiki (use the hashtags to see more Instagram photos!) Rafiki is available for adoption, to the right family, anywhere in the US. You can learn more about  Megaesophagus (sometimes called Mega-e or ME) here: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/megaesophagus We are currently investigating an innovative surgery that may allow Rafiki to eat outside of a chair. DHDR will be providing a custom Bailey chair to Rafiki’s adopter. If you are just the right fit for Rafi or want to talk about her further, email Contact@azdoberescue.org.
