Story
Delta’s story began in a neighborhood in El Paso, Texas, where the stray dog population was overwhelming, and sadly, some people were intentionally harming these vulnerable animals. When we heard about the heartbreaking loss of numerous dogs in the area, we knew we had to act. We hit the road to meet Delta and bring her to safety, and when we finally laid eyes on her, we couldn’t have been happier—or more relieved. Despite everything she’d endured, Delta greeted us with a wagging tail, a hint of playfulness, and a heart full of sweetness.
Since arriving in Arizona, Delta has continued to amaze us with her gentle resilience and bright spirit. This 1 year old Doberman mix completed a 5-week professional Board + Train program, and she’s blossomed into a more confident, well-mannered young pup. She’s smart, curious, and full of potential—always eager to connect and slowly learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.
Delta is especially bonded to her companion Dawn, who came from the same situation and has been by her side throughout their journey to healing. Our hope is to find them a home together, where they can continue to grow and thrive side by side. However, we’re open to adopting them out separately if the perfect family comes along for each of them.
