Foley here is a large handsome boy looking for a family. Foley was transferred from another local shelter to broaden his horizons in search of his new home. Foley is a very big boy with a lot of love to give. He is very friendly to people and curious about the world around him. He loves to sniff and walk in the woods on the trails on our property. He is strong on leash and has frequently barked at other dogs that he sees. This just means that he needs some manners training, but in the meantime, he needs someone who is strong enough to hold him. Foley would like to be your only pet. He isn't a big fan of other dogs and is definitely too big, energetic, and prey driven for a cat. He wants to get all the attention!! We adopted Raine off of Craigslist, from what we’ve heard, he was sent up here from down south. Not sure anything else. When we took him for his first vet visit, we found out he had heart worms, we were devastated but went through the entire year of treatment and happy to say he is officially all clear and healthy now. He is up to date on shots, I have many vet records, he will also go with toys, bed, etc. we are only rehomeing him because my wife & I work full time, sometimes more. We are just not home with enough and he is getting depressed. He is so loving, wants cuddles and pets almost all the time! He loves his plush “babies” and going for walks. He would do best in a home where he is not alone all day. He has not been around small children but does get along well with my mothers chihuahua & our cats

Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Bambi is a sweet 1 year old mix who loves to go on walks and is hoping for a family that will give him lots of belly rubs. Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters. ##2071710##
