MEET ANUBIS!This handsome guy is Anubis, a tall 100+ lb Doberman who is ready to meet his new best friend! Anubis is an active, friendly guy who LOVES being around his humans, so much so that he is not afraid to let you know how much he misses you with his voice. For this reason, he would not be the best fit for an apartment and is hoping for a family with someone home more often than not. He is not aware of just how big or strong he is, so would do best in a home with kids in their teens and up that won`t get knocked down when he gets excited. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but again is not aware of just how big he is so needs a dog who can keep up with his playstyle. He has many of his basic manners down and walks nicely on leash with a front-clip harness. He is very affectionate with his friends. Nox is looking for a home — he’s a story of resilience, growth, and second chances. Pulled from a shelter by our trainer at @gentlewolfdogtraining in early 2025, Nox arrived severely malnourished and clearly suffered a difficult past. Today, he’s healthy, strong, and ready for the right person to step into his world. At roughly 3 years old, Nox is a young adult with a big personality. He’s a well-traveled gentleman (no really, he flies with his foster) who thrives in nature - hiking trails, open space, quiet environments. He’s a dog who wants to lean into capable leadership, not chaos. He experienced the worst kind of cruelty but does not need babying — he needs a human who understands what structured support looks like. Someone who can stay calm, think clearly, and provide guidance, also ideally has experience with the breed. When Nox feels understood and like his person has his back, a different dog appears. He's goofy, charming, sometimes hilariously unsure of how to manage his big body, and full of potential. With other dogs, he does well under clear leadership and benefits from clear boundaries. Nox is not a beginner’s dog. His past has left marks that surface when he becomes overwhelmed, especially during transitions into rest. Nox will only be adopted to an experienced home — someone who respects what a dog with a story needs, and has the means, empathy, and skill set to continue his journey. James was adopted into a home with other dogs but is having difficulty with sharing the home. His adopter has made the difficult decision to rehome James. He is a 2 year old Poodle/Doberman/Akita. He is neutered and was just seen at the vet for a check up. When asked to describe James, we were told he is loving, playful and quick to learn. Our lovely Nessie is an outgoing Beauty who loves everyone! She came to our Connecticut rescue recently after she was found as a stray in North Carolina. When her Owner did not claim her, Nessie made the trip North to start a new life. Nessie appears to be a stunning mix of Doberman and Husky, with black and white coloring, a fluffy plume tail and soulful brown eyes. She is a medium sized dog, at a healthy weight of 50 pounds. Her coat is short and smooth, and she is easy to groom. Nessie can be shy at first meeting, but warms quickly and becomes extremely affectionate. She relishes human touch, and willingly leans into her person for ear scratches. Nessie is not as frantically high energy as some Huskies that we have known, but as a one year old youngster, she does need a fair amount of exercise and mental stimulation. Nessie is a smart girl and has already passed many of the Canine Good Citizenship tests. She is a breeze to train, and loves the work, so motivated adopters could easily take her the rest of the way to CGC certification. Obedience work will go a long way to keep her challenged, calm and balanced. Nessie would thrive in an active adult household, or in a family with older kids keen to the needs of a rescue dog. Nessie would like to be in the forefront of the family, and invited to participate in family activities. She would be the ideal running or hiking companion. She is an excellent traveler and would love to join her folks on camping or road trips. She is not a dog to be relegated to the backyard, where boredom and frustration can set in, and create unpleasant consequences. Nessie could easily join a multi-dog home. She enjoys play and is pretty sociable. We have not tested her with cats. She has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She is in optimal health, and has been recently spayed, and has received routine vaccinations, deworming and health screenings.
