Story
🐾 Meet Canela! 🐾 Name: Canela Age: 1 year old Gender: Female Weight: 64 lbs Size: Big girl, big heart! ❤️ Canela’s story is one of survival. We rescued her just minutes before she was scheduled to be euthanized at a high-kill shelter in South Texas, near the Texas–Mexico border. She was given a second chance, and now she’s ready to find the family she was always meant to have. Canela is a big, beautiful ball of energy with an even bigger personality! She is incredibly sweet, loving, smart, curious, playful, and adventurous. She loves being involved in everything her people are doing and is definitely a Velcro dog — if you’re there, she wants to be right there with you. ❤️ She LOVES to play, and water is one of her favorite things! Whether she’s running around, exploring, playing with her ball, or finding something fun to get into, Canela is always ready for her next adventure. She is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained, and she does well with kids. She also enjoys other dogs who can match her energetic and playful temperament. Now, let’s talk about her personality! 😂 Canela is not shy about asking for attention. She has a demanding little personality when it comes to getting love and attention, and she will absolutely let you know when she thinks it’s time to focus on her. She’s affectionate, people-oriented, and wants to be part of the action. And one very important Canela fact: She can jump ANY fence. And I mean ANY fence. 😂 Height does not seem to matter to this girl. Her future family will need to be extremely careful with fencing and have a secure plan to keep this adventurous escape artist safely contained. 🏡 Canela’s ideal home Canela needs an active home with people who understand and appreciate an energetic young dog. She would thrive with a family that enjoys outdoor adventures, playtime, exercise, and keeping their dog mentally and physically engaged. Her energy can be a lot if you’re expecting a calm couch potato — but if you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy who will shower you with affection, Canela may be your girl. Once you get past her “I HAVE ENERGY AND I NEED YOU TO KNOW ABOUT IT!” personality, you’ll discover the most loving, loyal, affectionate girl. Canela has already fought hard for her second chance. Now she just needs someone who will give her the active, loving forever home she deserves. 🐾❤️ Could Canela be your next adventure buddy? Canela is spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Theo A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient, Loving Home!!Theo came to us from another rescue that asked for help and while we don't know much about his past, its clear that life hasn't always been kind to him. Despite that, Theo is one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs you could ever meet. This handsome boy has a tender heart. He takes treats ever so gently, loves his toys, and is wonderfully quiet he's not much of a barker at all. Theo is also crate trained and finds comfort in having his own safe space.Right now, Theo thinks the world can be a pretty scary place. Because of that, he will need a patient and understanding family willing to let him move at his own pace and help him build confidence. A calm home, paired with a commitment to working with a behavioral trainer, will help him truly blossom into the happy dog we know he can be.One thing that makes a huge difference for Theo? Another dog. He absolutely thrives with a confident, friendly canine companion who can show him the ropes and help him feel safe enough to come out of his shell. With another dog around, Theo begins to relax, play, and show his joyful side - its truly beautiful to watch.Theo is currently living with older children (7+), and he does well with them because they understand how to be gentle, respectful, and give him space. He will need a home where everyone honors his need to come to you for affection on his own terms. As for other animals -Theo has even been around chickens and leaves them completely alone! Squirrels, on the other hand... those are a bit more exciting in his eyes. Theo is incredibly sweet, adorable, and so deserving of a second chance. He just needs someone willing to show him that the world can be safe, kind, and full of love.If you have the patience, compassion, and heart to help Theo heal and grow, he will reward you in the most beautiful ways.Ready to give Theo the life he's always deserved?
