Meet Phineus - in spite of the fact that in his former life someone took a scissor to his ears, this boy is a total lovebug! He is a handsome Doberman mix who's about 6 1/2 years old & weighs 45 pounds!  Phineus had a rough start but you would never know it. Although sometimes shy, he loves people and is extremely affectionate and cuddly. He loves to lick your face and loves belly rubs. He is happiest when he is right next to you or in your lap.  He is very food motivated and very intelligent.  Phin has already mastered "sit" “down” “paw” "rollover" and “touch” (touch my hand with your nose), "go to bed" (go in his crate). He is pretty good with "stay" "come" and "leave it" Overall he is very eager to please, motivated by treats/praise and respects “no”. Phin also LOVES toys. Phin is crate trained and house trained.  He is great in the car and on leash. He loves going for walks. Phineus needs to be the only pet in the home after 2 adoptions that landed him back in the kennel for not getting along with the resident dogs :(   Phineus is good with children as his true nature is to be very gentle, but as he ages they seem to overwhelm him when he lives with them so he needs an adult only household. If you are looking for the most loving, handsome, fun and silly pup to be the utmost loyal companion, this is the boy for you. Check out my video on my profile to see how awesome of a snuggler I am!! This handsome Doberman boy is 2 1/2 years old, weighs 65 pounds and is a rescue from Texas. He came to us positive for heartworm and after many months has officially completed his treatment AND has now been cleared with a negative heartworm test!!! Winchester is the sweetest boy - he loves everyone he meets and is always happy to make new friends (human and dog). He is crate trained, housebroken, and knows a lot of basic commands. We are currently working on his leash training and jumping. Since he loves food and having a project to do, he loves working on training! It is strongly recommended NO plush toys as this handsome boy likes to steal and eat small fabric items (like toys and socks - they're just so yummy)! Winchester loves his bones, Kongs, rope toys, and tennis balls so he still has plenty of options when it comes to playing. He gets along with other dogs, but gets overly excited to see cats and wants to chase them. While he is a very energetic pup, he loves snuggling with his foster parents and is always up for a good ear rub or belly rub. Phoenix! This lovely, squishy medium sized (maybe 55 lbs) girl is around 2-3 years old. She was originally adopted from us as a puppy but returned for not getting along with the other pets in the home. Phoenix should be an only pet in her new home, but is a lovely girl willing to give you all her love. She would benefit from a diet and losing a little weight. She is a great girl who is fully housebroken (but may have a few small accidents as she gets acclimated) and crate trained. She would be fine with older, school aged children. 5/22/2023 Paley's turn... She's been in foster care for 17 weeks and it's just about time for her to find her family. She's beautiful, loving, and loyal. She's the typical dobie-velcro dog; fluctuating between "race around the yard" burst of energy and doze right next to you! Little known fact about Paley, she took care of her foster mom when she took a small tumble and patiently stood and braced herself so that her foster mom could get up. She did not leave her side until she knew she was okay. Paley was rescued from a rural North Carolina shelter and was heartworm positive! She's been treated and will be ready to go home almost as soon as someone falls in love and promises to love her furever. Three year old Paley weighs 67 lbs, is up to date on her vaccines, has been spayed, and has also been treated for heartworms. Her attitude towards cats is not known.
