House trained and obeys basic commands such as sit, down, wait and paw but still working on the jumping up on guest. Logan is blind out of his right eye but has no affect on his behavior, personality or overall health. Looking for a future home with plenty of land, space and time for such a great companion.

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hampton NJ, Parsippany NJ, or Nanuet NY. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Story
Phoenix! This lovely, squishy medium sized (maybe 55 lbs) girl is around 2-3 years old. She was originally adopted from us as a puppy but returned for not getting along with the other pets in the home. Phoenix should be an only pet in her new home, but is a lovely girl willing to give you all her love. She would benefit from a diet and losing a little weight. She is a great girl who is fully housebroken (but may have a few small accidents as she gets acclimated) and crate trained. She would be fine with older, school aged children. Story
Meet Cosmo, a 3-year-old Doberman Pinscher who is looking for his forever home! Cosmo is a black and rust Dobie who is neutered. He has cropped ears (one is straight up, and the other is floppy) and a docked tail. He is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. He is currently being cared for by the Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA. Cosmo is an excellent family dog who bonds strongly with his family. He is a fast learner and is highly food-motivated. He behaves wonderfully at the vet and has no resource-guarding issues at all. He is very protective of his people and loves making them happy. Cosmo will need an experienced, strong leader to teach him proper reactions to new situations and people in the home. He is very excitable and needs consistent training with firm, steady commands to know when to be calm. Ideal adoption candidates will have experience with Dobermans or other large working breeds. Ideal home environments will have a fenced in yard in a quiet area with minimum vehicle and pedestrian traffic. No young children and would do best as an only dog. No cats. If you think that Cosmo would be a great addition to your family, visit https://www.dprpa.org/adopt-available-dogs-apply to fill out an adoption application!

Story
Hi everyone, my name’s Turbo! I’m a two-year-old, red, handsome Doberman with a docked tail and I’ve heard my ears don’t cooperate the way they should, but I still think they look cute. I have been through a lot in my short life. I lived in a very busy household with my best friend Luna. We were left outside all day and did get in trouble when we found ways to escape the yard and wander the neighborhood. My parents decided to crate us instead and we thought that was pretty boring. When I came into rescue, they found out I had Entropion in both eyes and the nice doctors at the vet fixed them with surgery, so I feel much better! DPRPA volunteers have spent a lot of time with Turbo and have found that due to lack of structure and boundaries he needed some serious obedience training. Turbo is currently working with a trainer 3 days a week building a foundation of obedience. He is learning how to listen calmly, follow instructions and curbing inappropriate habits. Turbo would flourish in a Doberman savvy home, with a fenced in yard (this is a must). We are not recommending other dogs, as he will need to be his new family’s main focus offering continued structure and management. Also, due to his size and energy an adult only family would be best. Turbo is a sweet, goofy and loving boy, who will stick to you like Velcro and would love nothing more than spend his days playing fetch and going for walks. If you want to give this loving boy a forever home, fill out an application here: https://www.dprpa.org/copy-of-volunteer-form

Story
Bruno is a 2-year-old fawn cropped and docked male that was surrendered to Beaver County Humane Society, when his family decided they no longer wanted him. His foster mom says he is a sweet boy who will give you that dreamy look when he wants to snuggle. She has nicknamed him Coco Puff because his beautiful coat is the same color as Coco Puff cereal. He knows sit, stay, and come but will need some continued leash training. Bruno loves to play with his foster sister Ellie, so he would do well with a similar sized female dog. Bruno will need an experienced home with no small children or small animals, as his foster family realized he has some guarding issues. They also found he quickly bonds with his family and has shown possessiveness. Ideal adoption candidates will have experience with Dobermans or other large working breeds and will have basic knowledge of canine body language and behavior. Bruno is neutered, micro chipped, and up to date on all his vaccines and ready to go! Can you find room for this big Coco Puff in your life?
