Story
I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.

Story
Glory is a gorgeous, resilient pup who has overcome incredible challenges. She came to us after being tied up for 3 years - she was emaciated and had 7 puppies with her. Her spirit was not broken but she is cautious of new people for about 48 jours and then becomes your best friend. She deserves a forever home where she can be cherished, spoiled, and celebrated for the amazing survivor she is. Glory is proof that beauty, love, and happiness shine brighter than any hardship. Glory is located in our shelter in Hondo, Texas. If you would like to add this sweetie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance* She is heartworm negative and Chagas positive. Tipsy tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas

Story
Bane is a 5.5-month-old Min Pin mix weighing about 28 pounds, and he’s as sweet as they come! This little guy loves everyone he meets and has the perfect mix of puppy playfulness and gentle affection. He’s potty and crate trained, good with both big and little dogs, and is already showing how smart and well-mannered he’ll be as he grows. Bane enjoys cuddling up close after a good romp outside, happily soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He does get a little car sick, so short rides and time to adjust will help him out. Whether he’s chasing toys or snuggling on the couch, Bane’s kind spirit and lovable personality make him the perfect companion for a lucky family ready to give him a forever home. Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves?
