Story
MIXED BREED PUPPY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Jewel came to us along with her mom and six siblings on March 10 at just three days old. Mom Bella is as sweet as can be, a trait that was passed along to her puppies. She’s a petite mix weighing about 40 pounds (see photo); dad is unknown. Five of the litter have been adopted, with just Ben and Jewel still patiently waiting. Jewel has beautiful blue eyes as did one of her sisters, hinting at perhaps some Husky or Aussie. She has her basic training down pat and has learned to do her business outside. Jewel is playful, well socialized and a quick learner. She clearly enjoys the company of people and is ready to settle in with her forever family. Jewel is healthy, has received two sets of vaccinations, deworming treatment and is microchipped. Sterilization at our vet at about 10 months of age is included in the $795 adoption fee. If you’re ready for a lifetime commitment and interested in opening your home to Jewel, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
LAB MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Meet handsome Lab mix Ozzy, who found himself in need of a new home when his owner passed away. He didn’t come with any background information, so his exact age is unknown, but he’s around 2.5 years old. Ozzy is a playful guy and is currently being fostered with two other dogs. He has also lived with a cat, although he would also be fine as an only pet. He’s energetic and can play fetch for hours, so a home with a fenced yard would be ideal. Being a Lab mix, he might even like a kiddie pool to cool off in on hot summer days. Ozzy is good on leash and greets other pooches nicely and is also great in the car. He can be left loose in the house without issue while his people are at work. Ozzy loves attention and being close to his people, so be prepared for an affectionate companion. He has lived with children aged 12+ and will make an awesome pet for an active family, couple or single. Ozzy was examined by our vet and got a clean bill of health. He received his vaccinations and was recently neutered and microchipped, which is all included in his $675 adoption fee. If you’re interested in adopting Ozzy, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Our 50-pound, 4.5-year-old Schnauzer mix River is extremely loving and affectionate with his own people, but it’s a different story with visitors. Negative behaviour was created as a result of having been put in a room when visitors arrived. Because of this, River needs an experienced adopter who is prepared to work with him with a basket muzzle to help manage and overcome this reaction when people visit his home. LIFESTYLE: River needs a calm single or couple with a quiet lifestyle and few visitors. A semi-rural or rural environment would suit him best. River would not be suitable for apartment life, and no dog parks or children please. ACTIVE: River is playful and moderately active. He enjoys walks when there is not a lot going on around him, but responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement. OTHER PETS: River would be fine as an only dog, but a well-behaved female canine role model may be beneficial. Don’t be fooled by River’s cuteness. He needs a dedicated pack leader to show him the way. If that sounds like you, a very loving companion awaits. If you are interested in offering River a forever home, we ask that you please visit us at www.kikodogrescue.ca to fill out an adoption questionnaire. All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworm (if deemed necessary), microchipped, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $475 and an adoption contract. Story
YORKIE MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION This little 10-year-old Yorkie mix came to Kiko due to barking complaints from other residents in the condo building. Upon intake, we discovered that Coco had a mass and cataracts. She had a successful spay and mass removal surgery and is now ready to move on to her forever home. Since her arrival, Coco has shown us that she’s a spunky little gal. Her limited vision did not slow her down at all as she quickly learned her way around the foster home. Coco is a bit of diva and will let you know when she wants something, whether it’s to go outside, have a snack, play or go to bed. Coco has a great love of the outdoors and will happily watch you garden and accompany you on long walks. She likes meeting new people and is friendly with cats and other dogs. Coco’s foster mom describes her as “spicy” and “endearing.” She would be perfect for someone who’s home a lot and is looking for a small older dog to love and spoil. At just 10 pounds, Coco doesn’t take up much room on the big bed. She’s playful and active, enjoys a good game of fetch, and always ready to learn something new. Unaccustomed to living with young children, Coco would prefer an adult home. If you’re interested in adopting Coco, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
Ohoh is in Korea now, but will arrive in Toronto upon adoption. His adopter need to come to Toronto to pick him up. 🐾 Background: Ohoh’s life hasn’t been easy. As a tiny puppy, he was found wandering in an apartment complex in Wanju, Korea. He was sent to a city pound, where he spent the next five years chained in a poor shelter with little comfort or care. This summer, Ohoh finally came to us and has been living at our boarding house, where he is safe and loved while waiting for his forever family. 🐾 Personality & Socialization: Ohoh is a gentle, sweet, and loyal boy with a calm, easygoing nature. He has medium energy, happy to go for walks and spend time with people, but also content to relax quietly by your side. He’s very friendly with people, both men and women, and loves being close to his humans. When it comes to other dogs, Ohoh gets along well with gentle, friendly, and well-mannered dogs, but he doesn’t like overly bossy, dominant, or hyper dogs. 🐾 Behaviour: Ohoh is well-behaved, obedient, and very smart. He bonds strongly with people and follows their lead easily. He rides calmly in the car, tolerates bath time, and is cooperative at the vet. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys outdoor potty breaks, and is quiet indoors. We’ve rarely heard him bark. With a little training, Ohoh will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. 🐾 Health & Diet: Ohoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccines. He is dewormed and on monthly parasite prevention. When first rescued, he was treated for anaplasmosis, and he has since made a full recovery. He’s in good health and ready for his forever home. Ohoh eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no allergies. 🐾 Ideal Home: Ohoh will thrive with a family looking for a calm, gentle, and loyal companion. He gets along well with other gentle, quiet, and well-mannered dogs, but he would be happiest as the only dog in a calm home. A quiet, relaxed lifestyle where he can soak up love and attention from his humans would be perfect for him. Ohoh is an easygoing and affectionate boy who simply wants to be by your side. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky. ⬇️ Find out more about Ohoh from link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/ohoh/
