Story
Ohoh is in Korea now, but will arrive in Toronto upon adoption. His adopter need to come to Toronto to pick him up. 🐾 Background: Ohoh’s life hasn’t been easy. As a tiny puppy, he was found wandering in an apartment complex in Wanju, Korea. He was sent to a city pound, where he spent the next five years chained in a poor shelter with little comfort or care. This summer, Ohoh finally came to us and has been living at our boarding house, where he is safe and loved while waiting for his forever family. 🐾 Personality & Socialization: Ohoh is a gentle, sweet, and loyal boy with a calm, easygoing nature. He has medium energy, happy to go for walks and spend time with people, but also content to relax quietly by your side. He’s very friendly with people, both men and women, and loves being close to his humans. When it comes to other dogs, Ohoh gets along well with gentle, friendly, and well-mannered dogs, but he doesn’t like overly bossy, dominant, or hyper dogs. 🐾 Behaviour: Ohoh is well-behaved, obedient, and very smart. He bonds strongly with people and follows their lead easily. He rides calmly in the car, tolerates bath time, and is cooperative at the vet. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys outdoor potty breaks, and is quiet indoors. We’ve rarely heard him bark. With a little training, Ohoh will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. 🐾 Health & Diet: Ohoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccines. He is dewormed and on monthly parasite prevention. When first rescued, he was treated for anaplasmosis, and he has since made a full recovery. He’s in good health and ready for his forever home. Ohoh eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no allergies. 🐾 Ideal Home: Ohoh will thrive with a family looking for a calm, gentle, and loyal companion. He gets along well with other gentle, quiet, and well-mannered dogs, but he would be happiest as the only dog in a calm home. A quiet, relaxed lifestyle where he can soak up love and attention from his humans would be perfect for him. Ohoh is an easygoing and affectionate boy who simply wants to be by your side. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky. ⬇️ Find out more about Ohoh from link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/ohoh/

Story
Meet Abaco: The Ultimate Introvert (Dog Edition) If Abaco were human, he'd be the friend who loves deep connections but skips the party—no hard feelings, he just enjoys his space. He's more "quiet corner" than social butterfly, especially around new people. Once you're in his trusted circle, however, this loyal and chatty companion opens up beautifully —affectionate, playful, and always ready to "talk" to his family, saving his conversations for those he loves. Abaco is currently being fostered with another dog, but he can be particular when first meeting a new pooch. And when it comes to food, he's a true gourmet—treat-motivated, but only for the finest offerings, wagging his tail like a culinary critic with high standards. Abaco can be a bit nervous with strangers. He’ll gladly and very gently accept a treat, but please don't expect to pet him at the first meeting. Abaco appreciates slow introductions and understands clear boundaries. Give him a couple of days and a solid routine, and he transforms into a super cuddly, incredibly chatty, and very playful companion who loves his people deeply. Once you're in his circle, expect affectionate snuggles, playful energy, and lots of meaningful conversation. Age: 4 years Breed: Potcake (Golden/Husky mix) Looks: Gorgeous fur, expressive eyes Skills: Walks well on leash (although wary of strangers), loves to play If you’re interested in adopting Abaco, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

PUPPY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Bella’s puppies were born on March 7, and the young family came to Kiko just three days later. Sweet Bella is a sweet medium-sized mixed breed, but we don’t know anything about the dad. Ben had his first vet visit on April 30 and was given a clean bill of health. He weighed 5.93 kg and is estimated to grow to anywhere between 20 to 30 kg. At 17 kg, his mom is still a little underweight from the toll of raising her offspring. Ben has been eating puppy kibble for a month, but Bella is very patient and still allows him to nurse. We are accepting applications for Ben and he'll be ready to go to his new home as of May 16. This will give him a good ten weeks with his mom and siblings for optimal behavioural and social development. It’s rewarding to watch a pup grow and learn, but we cannot stress enough how much work having a puppy is. There will be accidents in the house and items left unattended will be tempting for an unsupervised puppy. Please be sure that all family members are on board and ready for a lifetime commitment. If you’re interested in adopting Ben, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. Our adoption fee for puppies is $795 and includes first vaccination and deworming, and sterilization at our vet at about 10 months of age. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
ADULT FEMALE HUSKY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Luna is a beautiful 7-year-old female Husky with a gentle soul and a playful spark. She finds herself in need of a new home following a move to an apartment where dogs are not permitted. Luna is in her wonderful “grown-up but still fun” stage of life — past the puppy chaos, but still full of personality and love. She enjoys walks, cozy naps, and spending time with her people. Luna is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s part of the family. Smart and playful, Luna listens well and is friendly with other dogs. She’s housetrained and can be left alone loose in the house without being destructive. Luna would do best in a home that understands the Husky breed and can give her regular exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion who will brighten your days and warm your heart, Luna might just be your perfect match. If you’re interested in offering Luna her forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT URGENTLY NEEDED! Our partner shelter is once again overcrowded and has reached out to us for help with a sweet German Shepherd that is very stressed at the shelter. Sierra is 6.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, 70 pounds, and in good health. She has been with several families in the past and has lacked stability, but we’re aiming to change that. Sierra was mainly used for breeding by people with bad intentions. Despite this unhappy past, she is adorable with humans, very sweet, docile, obedient, and housetrained. Sierra can live in the city if she gets to go out for walks every day. She may bark a little to warn of visitors but is not overly vocal and is able to stay home alone. Sierra has never lived with cats and gets excited around them but could possibly adapt if she's introduced very gradually and with cats who are used to big dogs. She accepts other male dogs who are gentle and respectful of her space, however, is less patient with young dogs who are too excited and just want to play all the time. If you’re interested in fostering and potentially providing Sierra with a forever home, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. If you would like to offer to be a temporary foster only, please complete the temporary foster home questionnaire. You can also send us a PM or email us at info@kikodogrescue.ca with any questions you may have. When fostering, food and other expenses are paid for by Kiko. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas.
