Story
Draugr is very, very gentle with children and loves to cuddle. He is really very loving towards children. He cannot be with cats and would be better as an only dog. He has started showing food aggression with our other dog so unless they can be fed separately, he would be best in a single pet household. Because of his size and strength, someone younger and familiar with breeds of this size would be best for our sweet boy. Draugr was rescued from a family whose circumstances required that a new home be found. We had adopted his sister, so we agreed to take him on a temporary basis. We have fallen in love with this boy, but we need to find him a home where there are no cats as he is very prey driven towards cats, which we have several. Draugr is crate trained and is happy sleeping in his kennel at night. He would make a wonderful dog for someone who can spend time with him and enjoys a cuddle-bug.

Story
Petey came to Home Fur Good in November 2021 after being found as a stray. He was coming up on a full year at HFG, and steps have been taken to help him complete the process to find his forever family. Getting his stats out there, he will soon be turning five years old, and he is a 53-pound, Boxer mix. HFG has always known that Petey is a good boy and that he has amazing potential to learn new tricks, skills, and the desired behaviors to become an amazing canine citizen. Petey has spent two full weeks in Board and Train with George at Couth Canine. Petey was introduced to heeling and sitting at his handler’s side. Petey loves going on walks and adventures, and by learning leash manners, his opportunity to go out and about increases tenfold. Petey thrived with school and having a pack leader. Petey’s biggest desire is hanging out with people and feeling pets and affection. He is willing to listen and follow instruction for the sheer joy of a head scratch and hearing “good boy.” His forever family will need to continue to work with Petey. A tight bond can be developed with a healthy environment of a strong pack leader and Petey. Petey is fine making new dog friends. His preference is for dogs who give him space and prefer co-existing over wrestling. If you can match Petey’s vibrant attitude, come on down and meet him. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.
