Story
Aries is a 2 yr old, 70 lb male boxer/ bulldog/pit bull mix.  He is a gentle giant! He knows his commands and walks very well on a leash without pulling. He is kindhearted & is a very calm dog. He loves pets & scratches & is good with kids & people. He needs some help socializing with other dogs and has been practicing at times with a muzzle. He needs a patient owner to continue with help in this area. He would not do well in a home with a cat.   He is currently in a shelter at Charlies' Place the Clear Creek/ Gilpin county shelter in Dumont, CO.  For more information please contact Sue at 303-679-2477 or go to www.charliesplaceshelter.weebly.com   This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Percolating with puppy-like pep, 4.5-year-old Pete is over the moon in his foster home! The 41-pound brindle beauty, so sweet and so social, loves snuggling with his foster mom, “smushing” his face into hers, resting his head on her and rolling over for belly rubs. Not to mention splaying out on his back when he’s truly relaxed. His foster mom also refers to him as a “canine security blanket” because he puts all of his weight against you when snuggling. Agile and athletic, he also loves playing with other dogs of similar size, and has learned, over time, to read their cues and respect their boundaries. Passionate about chasing his squeaky Kong toy during the games of fetch he enjoys in the backyard, he also enjoys going for long daily walks, walking well on his leash, and should his attention wander, he’s easily distracted with treats. Having his cherry eyes fixed recently, Pete’s in a cone and learned to use it as a scoop to throw snow in the air! Motivated by food, toys and love, Pete is eager to please and easy to teach, comes when called, and currently knows “sit” and “no.” While he eats and sleeps in his crate, he freely roams the house when his foster mom is out and greets her excitedly whenever she comes home. Almost fully house-trained and at work on his manners, Pete will thrive in an adoptive home, preferably with another playful pup and older children, that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him both active and adored fur-ever.  See additional photos and videos of Pete here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
