Kiwi is a 3 yr old male boxer/bulldog/pit bull mix. He completed a 2-week training to help with some behaviors from being in a shelter most of his life- difficulty meeting new people, etc. He will need a patient owner to continue his training & Charlie's Place will pay for training as part of his adoption. He knows his basic commands, loves going on hikes & exploring & playing fetch! He is loveable & affectionate and has been getting along well with other dogs with proper introductions. He is a sweetheart & needs a chance at his forever home! Kiwi is currently in a shelter at Charlies' Place the Clear Creek/ Gilpin County shelter in Dumont, CO. March 7, 2026, 10:10 am

Well, hello. So glad you stopped by. I’m Rockwell, by the way. A little bashful at first, but my PR lady says I gotta toot that horn a little more. While I’m thinking we’re not related, I do love his paintings of families by the fireplace, loyal dogs at their feet. No need for the fireplace, mind you. You had me at lie at your feet. I could also lie on them, if you prefer? #cuddlebug #rockwell #timeforustosettledown I’m a brainy sort who loves puzzles, especially those involving food. If that Sunday crossword were made of treats, I’d surely make the front page. I also love a good road trip, wind in my ears, or cuddling up with a warm mug of chai, you by my side. Then, after a good nap, I’m ready to romp in those fall leaves (If only I could rake them for you.) In addition to mental exercise, I like to stay fit by rolling around the yard, going for a run, or taking a nice walk together ( I do love our walks.) And I adore playing with tennis balls–-greatest inventions of all time. Hey, do you like belly rubs? Really!? Me too! One of the best things known to pup-kind. Fun fact: belly rubs are great for said dog (of course!), but they also boost the mood of the human giving them. (Hint, hint.) You rub my belly, I rest my head on yours…sigh. Fenway | 8-year-old mixed breed | The Goofy Gentleman Fenway is an 8-year-old, 40-pound mix with the perfect balance of gentlemanly manners and goofy charm. He’s mellow, low-to-medium energy, and loves lounging, short walks, and couch snuggles—ideal for quiet mornings, Netflix marathons, and road trips. Fenway is almost fully house trained, crate trained (though he prefers free roam), and generally good on leash. Fenway does require very slow, thoughtful introductions to both people and other dogs. While he can politely coexist with other dogs in public, he prefers to keep his castle to himself and would do best as the only dog in his home. Recently, Fenway has started showing behaviors that suggest he may feel more comfortable with men than women, though with patience, consistency, and calm energy, he can continue building trust. He appreciates gentle approaches, predictable routines, and being allowed to move at his own pace. Kids and cats haven’t been tested yet, but he would likely thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home without a lot of hustle and bustle. He’s affectionate, food motivated (salmon is a favorite!), and full of endearing quirks: soft “songs” when content, pawing for attention, belly rub flops, and his signature “seal pose.” Fenway is adjusting beautifully after a previous ear infection and is learning to trust gentle, predictable handling. Fenway’s ideal home is patient, calm, and steady—somewhere he can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the loyal, snuggly companion he is. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
