Story
Percolating with puppy-like pep, 4.5-year-old Pete is over the moon in his foster home! The 41-pound brindle beauty, so sweet and so social, loves snuggling with his foster mom, “smushing” his face into hers, resting his head on her and rolling over for belly rubs. Not to mention splaying out on his back when he’s truly relaxed. His foster mom also refers to him as a “canine security blanket” because he puts all of his weight against you when snuggling. Agile and athletic, he also loves playing with other dogs of similar size, and has learned, over time, to read their cues and respect their boundaries. Passionate about chasing his squeaky Kong toy during the games of fetch he enjoys in the backyard, he also enjoys going for long daily walks, walking well on his leash, and should his attention wander, he’s easily distracted with treats. Having his cherry eyes fixed recently, Pete’s in a cone and learned to use it as a scoop to throw snow in the air! Motivated by food, toys and love, Pete is eager to please and easy to teach, comes when called, and currently knows “sit” and “no.” While he eats and sleeps in his crate, he freely roams the house when his foster mom is out and greets her excitedly whenever she comes home. Almost fully house-trained and at work on his manners, Pete will thrive in an adoptive home, preferably with another playful pup and older children, that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him both active and adored fur-ever.  See additional photos and videos of Pete here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Hello, I'm Ozzy! Life is a playground for me. I'm young and full of energy, always ready to explore and play. I'm sweet and curious, always sniffing out new adventures. I love treats - they're the quickest way to my heart. But sometimes, I get a little scared. I'm not a fan of loud noises and sudden movements. That's why I'd do best in a home with older children who understand my fears. A fenced yard would be a dream come true for me, a safe place for me to play and burn off my energy. Adopting me would mean endless love, loyalty, and playfulness. Let's make memories together!April 29, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Sprinkle Thunderstorm Boxer Mix Female 2 months old - 10 lbs. Hey there, I’m Sprinkle Thunderstorm! I’m the friskiest pup with the happiest energy! Sometimes my joy comes out in sweet little sighs as I snooze (quietly sprinkling my cuteness around) and other times I’m a thunderstorm of glorious enthusiasm! I’m wagging my tail and bouncing with excitement to find my forever family! I’m a confident, curious pup who wants to be included in everything fun going on around me. I’m looking for a loving family to show me the ins and outs of this big world! I adore humans and will always greet you with a big smile, lots of licks and tail wags. I love playing with my siblings, I love all toys (especially tennis balls) and I can solve puzzles because I’m really smart! My foster says I’m very cuddly, so don’t forget the belly rubs! I’d be the perfect companion for an active, patient family who is ready to go on lots of adventures with me! Since I’m just a puppy, I am learning all about potty training, basic commands, house manners and what is appropriate to chew on (toys! I love toys!). I am working on learning to bark less, so I need an adopter who is okay with a puppy who barks. I am eager to learn and am motivated by love, so with positive reinforcement, I will continue building my good habits and feel secure in my forever home. I adore other dogs, I’ll do great with humans of all ages (but please note, puppies can be mouthy and have sharp teeth so homes with young children should be prepared for managing those interactions), and I’d likely do great with friendly cats as well! PawsCo loves to remind adopters that puppies are so adorable but we are also a lot of work! We are similar to having a human toddler and we need a ton of patience, positive reinforcement training, and lots of love. A puppy my age is still working on potty training, puppy “mouthing” during play, learning what to chew and what not to chew, and other typical puppy behaviors. An adopter should be fully prepared to register for puppy socialization classes at a local training facility (positive reinforcement training only!) and/or commit to learning positive training techniques to help support me as I grow up. Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. I look forward to meeting you!

Cupcake Raindrop Boxer Mix Male 2 months old - 10 lbs. Hey there, I'm Cupcake Raindrop, and I'm the most chill and quiet out of my three siblings, but don't let that fool you—I've got plenty of puppy energy! My motto is "play hard, nap harder," and I take my naps very seriously! I'm not just friendly; I'm a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making new friends. I'm a sweet and affectionate pup who enjoys lounging around, but I also thrive on human company. I adore other dogs, I’ll do great with humans of all ages (but please note, puppies can be mouthy and have sharp teeth so homes with young children should be prepared for managing those interactions), and I have also done great with friendly cats as well! Story
We love Henry! If this guy could talk he'd have quite the story to tell. He first came to the League as a stray and clearly had a rough go of it before he was brought to us. But despite a tough time he's kept a sweetness that can melt any heart. Henry is always ready to show love and receive it in return and a resilience that's truly inspiring. Besides knowing how to rock a bow tie did we mention he has the softess cheeks? Well, he does and boy, he loves to have them scratched! Henry is finding his confidence and will do best in a home with older children and where he can take his time settling in. Henry meets new people with a shy demeanor and a hopeful wag of his tail. Come in a meet him and let him show you that he's ready to share a home and a lot of love (and cheek scratches)!April 29, 2024, 10:13 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Four-year-old Torchy has touched his fosters’ hearts with his sweet and silly ways. Once the 45-pound white beauty felt comfortable in their company, he opened his own heart, and now he LOVES licking them, cuddling and snuggling, and playing with them. He also loves engaging, often too exuberantly, with other dogs. Torchy LOVES going for walks - they're the absolute highlight of his day! He enjoys chewing on Nylabones and playing with soft, plushy toys, but what he loves most is his wobble Kong, giddily getting into boxing matches with it! Known to prance around the house and strut when he walks, he’s equally famous for lying on his back with his legs in the air, as an open invitation for belly rubs, paw-lease. Motivated by love, toys and food (he’s passionate about people food), highly intelligent and easy to teach, he knows “come”, “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “off”, “no”, “touch” and “leave it”, accepts his favorite Charlie Bear biscuit treats gently and loves relaxing inside his crate with the door open. He's leash- and house-trained. Torchy has graduated from a 4-week board and training obedience program through American Canine Academy. They offer free lifetime training support to adopters. For Torchy to thrive, he requires a strong but loving “pack leader” to continue his training, and keep him mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.   Torchy is a courtesy posting and not an Animal Rescue of the Rockies dog. But his foster asks that all interested individuals fill out our adoption application.April 29, 2024, 6:52 pm

Freckles is a 2-3 yr old female Pitty mix. She is just a big squishy love bug! She loves people and gets along with other dogs. She gives the best kisses!!  I wouldn't recommend her with cats, though. She would do well as an only dog, but would also be ok with other dogs her size or larger.  She weighs about 35 lbs. She is spayed, UTD on shots, fully vetted and HW negative, and weighs about 40 lbs. Please email scottnbecky0503@yahoo.com with "Freckles" in the heading if you are interested.  This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. Story
Meet Tula, aka Tula Jane! Tula was rescued off the streets as a tiny puppy nearly one year ago and has been well loved and cared for ever since . She is perfectly house trained and is socialized but always cautious with new comers, having spent a lot of time around different people and dogs . She loves to be near her family and gets especially enthusiastic about riding in the car if she is told she is going to see the vet (not kidding) or going to daycare!  Her DNA profile revealed she is a mix of a few different breeds: American bulldog, German shepherd, American pit bull terrier, miniature Australian shepherd, and American staffordshire terrier. She is a very smart girl, quite a beauty and has a smile bigger than the state of Oklahoma where she currently resides!  She knows commands "sit" and "down" and "spin" so far and can certainly learn more! She has lots of energy and LOVES to play with all of her toys. An ideal day in Tula’s eyes would include lots of time outside with her family. She loves to play and has a passion for gathering sticks while out on walks and has fun playing by the creek. When home she will either snuggle on the couch, put her head by yours to remind you she is there if you are watching TV and is known to shadow her people throughout the house. When it is time to rest, she is happy to nap with her own blanket. She is a very well behaved dog, is spayed and up to date on her vaccines and is a health nut, loving to snack on veggies; carrots are her current favorite! Would you be interested in giving Tula the forever home that she is so deserving of and in need of at this time? Please contact Chris if you have any questions or need more information. We are happy to bring Tula Jane to you if you are her perfect forever home!   (713) 480 8473 clzenner1@gmail.com      This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs.
