You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yukon (Yuki) was dumped at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is deaf, but that does not slow him down. Best fit home would have a fenced in yard to keep him safe and a companion dog. He is good with other dogs, kids, and cats (dog savvy ones because he likes to chase to play and lick them). All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Yuki can be shy at first but don't let that foolw you, he quickly warms up and is the best boy. He is a smart boy who learned signs and schedules fast. He loves to run and play with dogs (and cats but he doesn't understand his size to theirs). He loves everyone he meets and thinks all dogs are his friends. He is working on leash skills, but he doesn't quite understand it yet. He is a gem and anyone would be lucky to have him as part of their family First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 16, 2024, 8:57 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Wondering how I’m still available?  Me too!  I might seem high maintenance being I need a fenced yard and another dog to play with in my forever home but I see it as making it easier for you.  You can just open the door and out we go to potty and play! You’ll find me to be super playful and incredibly sweet.  I enjoy cuddling with both people and dogs.  I’ve not quite gotten brave enough to check out the cat that is here.  So far the closest I’ve gotten is a sniff in the air. I’m what you would call a high-energy dog and it can appear as high energy reactiveness when I meet new dogs, so an experienced dog owner that can do proper introductions would help me remember to be polite and thrive.  I’m potty trained (unless you rely on using a leash, where I’ll hold it until I’m back inside, which is why I’m asking for a fenced yard). Perhaps we can work on using a leash together as I have a tendency to pull.  But I do know some commands, such as “sit, kennel and outside.”  Speaking of which, I know how to use a kennel but I’m not a fan of one.  I also have been known to bark at strangers out the windows and when you come back home.  I don’t count the times I bark when other dogs start it.  I’m just playing along.  Here is a summary of what foster-mom says: “She's absolutely perfect. Still young and playful but loves to be a couch potato and cuddle. She loves to get super close and tuck her head into your neck. She loves other dogs but needs to take it slow with dogs who are over friendly and get in her face. She does warm up eventually though. She's eager to learn and would benefit from training, especially good recall training as she does love to run.” Do you think we would be a good fit? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi! I’m Colton, the silliest boxer boy there ever was. I live for toys and I trot around like a champion and show it off to my humans when I find a good one. I also love to go on walks with my human. We are working on not pulling on the leash and I am a quick learner but do need a reminder once in awhile. I am potty and crate trained. I would do best in a home with an active owner and a female dog.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Meet Rosie, a super sweet girl with a heart as big as Texas! Rosie had a bit of an adventurous stint as a stray, but now she's all set to find her perfect forever home.Rosie is a furry socialite who gets along wonderfully with her fellow doggie pals. However, she does have one little quirk—cats and Rosie aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Those frisky felines tend to trigger her playful chase instincts! When it comes to humans, Rosie is a total cuddlebug. She's convinced she's a lap dog and won't hesitate to hop right up for some quality snuggle time. But here's the fun part: Rosie's got a spirited teenage attitude. When she's told "no" or caught doing something she shouldn't, she's not one to back down quietly—she'll talk back with all the sass!If you're ready to bring a sweet and silly addition to your family, Rosie is more than prepared for her forever home. And yes, she's absolutely transportable, so don't let the Texas distance discourage you, transport only costs $230. Apply today and let the fun begin!*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
From Foster: Hello, my name is Lady, and I've had that name ever since my humans made me a part of their family when I was little. For years I lived with human kids and my younger dog sister who looks almost exactly like me. Recently my dog sister and I met another human family - actually, a big group of humans acting like family - when my original human family had some trouble and needed my dog sis and me to stay with someone else for a while. We met our new human family and their two dog siblings - we immediately starting having fun together. Things changed, my dog sister went back with our original family. I'm OK though - I have my new family and new dog friends. We stay in the house during the day; the humans think we sleep all day but I assure you we do fun things together! in the afternoons and evenings we play in the yard, go for walks, and snuggle up on the couch. I don't bark or jump on people, and I walk really well on the leash (I just need to stop and sniff things a lot). I can be home all day without having to be let out (remember, the humans think I'm sleeping all day). I love my toys, especially the plushy ones and chewing on nylabones - I often have a toy in my mouth. I would love to be part of your family - adult humans, small humans, other dog friends, maybe even cats. Meet me and let me show you how special I am!

Story
Hellooooooooo!!I give you my very best “awoooo” as a hello! My name is Janet, and I was probably named after Ms. Jackson since we’re both such fabulous ladies. My siblings and I were strays down south before we were found by some lovely people. Turns out pets and kisses are about the best thing! I recently came to Mn with my brother. Our sister came up before us and has been adopted already. I’m only a little bit jealous!A little bit about me: before coming to MN I had never been in this thing called a “house” so it’s been a little bit of a learning curve for me. I’m learning things like stairs, the TV and other household items aren’t scary. I need a family that will be patient with me and help me continue learning. Even with just coming up to MN I already sleep all night in my kennel without a peep! My foster mom says I’m just the smartest girly! I’m so proud to announce that I still haven’t had a single accident in the house. Go me!!Otherwise, I’m pretty chill! I previously lived in a big pen with lots of other dog friends and I did great. I’ve been great at sharing my toys and having chew things around with other dogs, which is amazing since I started life on the streets of Alabama. My foster mom says I have a perfectly squishable face, which I think is a compliment. I come out my shell a little bit more every day and am excited to see what new things I’m going to learn tomorrow.Hope to sniff you soon!!Janet--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $525To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Pupdate- 4.16.24 Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story.  I will start with telling you a little about the amazing progress I have made in a short amount of time.  Pull up a chair , I can’t wait to tell you about myself…   Mr. Cooper LOVE people and affection. If you are interested in having  someone  be your loyal shadow, this guy is for you! He is an extremely strong and muscular dog weighing in at a solid 62 pounds. You should note that I eat about 3.5-4 cups of food a day. I do seem to have some digestive issues (toots), so we stick to chicken or  beef based  dog food.  I am very food motivated, so you can use food as treats…I don’t seem to know the difference ;)  When  I  first came to  my  foster mum ,   I  was: not house-trained, not crate-trained, couldn’t walk on a leash,  has some  skin issues and sores on  my  feet. But in a short 6 weeks …guess what…   I am  INCREDIBLY excited to share that  I have overcome all of the skills just listed!   I do  fall into  my  old habits of being mouthy, at times when engaging in play.  I’m not being  aggressive ,  just very excited and a lot of energy  makes me overly excited. From my foster mum:  Although Mr. Cooper LOVES kids, he does not remember his size. This paired with his energy can lead to jumping and possibly knocking over any children. Teenage children or older is recommended. Mr. Cooper also loves other dogs.  Mr. Cooper LOVES to be outside. This includes just lounging in the sun or running zoomies in the yard. His foster mum “highly” recommends a house for him “not” in the cities but instead a quiet area. He currently lives on 4 acres on a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac. He has jumped a fence in the past and his foster mum believes he would still be capable of this, so a fence is not a confinement solution for him long term. He currently runs on a 50 ft. leash lead and this seems to work well. He has stubborn streaks and will not listen if he is determined or focused on something.  He seems to have a “very” high prey drive! Although he lived with a small dog in the past, his foster mum doesn’t know how he would do. There are two small  dogs in the neighborhood now and he seems very eager to meet them but he needs to continue practicing his manners prior to meeting them (they are quite small).  Although he doesn’t bark when people knock at the door, ring the door bell, or stand in the open glass; he will stand gazing eagerly at the individual on the other side. But he doesn’t seem to bark. He  does  bark when foster mum leaves the house, so he should not in a home with any shared walls.   Cooper does not like the cold or to be cold. He LOVES to snuggle in foster mum’s softest blankets and cuddle next to her all night long. I love to lay wherever you will let me but know that I can only go where my basketball blanket is placed.  *Cooper will come with transition sessions with his trainer to help make sure he has a successful transition to his new home as well as being able to communicate with the trainer before meeting Cooper. We love him and are ecstatic he is ready to find his forever family! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 16, 2024, 4:01 pm

Looking for a happy watchdog? Well look no further! Bruto is the one for you - He will be 4 in November. Bruto is housebroken. He knows all of the basic commands. He doesn't bark when he has to go out, he will bark when people come to the door, or someone he deems suspicions on a walk, so he is definitely a good watchdog. He wants to protect you. Once he sees you welcome people, he will stop barking, have a very waggy tail and wants everyone to pet him so he can say hello to a new friend. Bruto is clever and affectionate. He is Kennel trained. He loves to play fetch even if it is just in the living room. Bruto has never bitten anyone human or animal.

Zuulie is super sweet and has a lot of personality. She is a big cuddle bug and just wants to love her human. She sleeps a lot of the day and has adorable snores and sleep woofs. Shes house trained, doesnt eat out of the trash, is super soft and doesnt shed. She does well with people and is very loving. Shes very communicative and will let you know when she needs to go out by standing by the door. She bounces her front two legs up and down when excited and is very food motivated, but doesnt beg. Shes a bit stubborn and strong willed, but has shown fast improvement with strong leaders and time to settle in. Her dream house would be somewhere... where Zuulie is the only animal in the house (she is dog reactive) without shared walls in a generally quiet neighborhood and ideally with a fenced yard Her dream person would be... Kind but firm/with a calm, Im-in-charge attitude Patient and willing to do obedience training with her. Zuulie is SO loving and worth it. Are you her person?

Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Kobe is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 17, 2024, 9:43 pm
