Story
He is the most docile, laid back, sweetest big dog you will meet. He’s a mess without his little compadre Rocco. He needs space to thrive. He is happy to just lay around all day. Feel so sad to leave him crated for most hrs in the day, trying to find a loving home for him or them to enjoy the rest of their lives. He is 8yrs old this year.

Story
Hi there, I'm Lucy! I am a approximately 2-year-old Dogo Argentino who weighs 52lbs. I was surrendered to the shelter on 03/01/2024 because my owner could no longer care for me. Now, I am hoping to find my new FURever home! I am a little timid at first but very sweet once I warm up to you. I am shy until I get to know you and LOVE a snuggly bed. I have not been introduced to another dog yet so a meet and greet is suggested if you have other dogs in the home to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on my basic yearly boosters. I did test positive for heartworms, however, thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I am able to receive treatment for little to no cost to my adopter. If you have any questions about heartworms or heartworm treatment, please contact RAC by phone or email. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please submit an adoption application for me at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 19, 2024, 1:18 pm

Story
**HEARING IMPAIRED**Meet Kurtis! He is a 2 yr old male neutered Argentine Dog mix that weighs 74lbs He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/5 as a stray. Sweet Kurtis you can tell hasn't had the best life so far. He is underweight and appears to have lived outside as seen by scrapes and cuts on his arms. Despite his past, he is optimistic about his future. And Kurtis has a super power that makes him extra special...he is deaf. We will care for him til he finds his loving forever home. When I told him this, he had the biggest smile on his face. He may not be able to hear me say that, but by the care, affection we have shown him, he knows we will. He is a very handsome boy that walks ok on a leash, tho he pulls a bit, and takes treats gently. He walked up our stand in the yard, and raised his head up to enjoy the sunshine on his face. He doesn't appear to know any hand signals, but he would love to learn. Kurtis hopes to find his own loving family soon so he can enjoy his own secured yard to investigate and run in, but live indoors with his human companions. Tho he didn't show any interest in the other dogs in the bay, if you do have another dog in the home please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. If you can provide him with the special care he needs, help him learn hand signals, then he is the right pup for you!

Story
Jack is a high energy puppy with lots of kisses to give! He's very curious and loves a good bully stick or bone to chew. He's a gorgeous brindle colored Dogo Argentino/Bully mix who is going to be a medium sized dog. He's half-house trained, and fully crate trained. He attends doggie daycare and will play well with other dogs as long as they play well with him! He would do well in a home without cats or small children as his energy can get to be a bit much for small ones. He has been to some training classes and knows Sit, Place, and Down (he needs more practice with these, they're new skills!). I found him as a stray and we tried to make him part of our family, but I have both cats and small children and we aren't the best fit for this energetic boy! I want to find him the best home where he can be the star! Jack's owner is also willing to adopt him out with his crate, training cot, leash, collar, toys, and his remaining Nexgard included! Jack is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Hello my name is Yuma! I'm very well behaved and very easy to walk on a leash. I jump around when I get excited and I have a lot of energy. I know lots of fun tricks like sit, stay, and paw. Car rides are my absolute favorite thing. I get along with other dogs however I recommend being the only pet in the home.I am spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. I am also on current flea and tick prevention. Please feel free to visit me anytime during the shelter's open hours Monday through Friday 11am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
