Story
Hi, my name is Xavier and I'm about 8 1/2 months old.  My siblings and I were born to a feral mom. Then we were surrendered to Bond County Humane Society so we can find loving furever homes. We are living in a foster home with other cats and a dog. I am a beautiful black kitten with a smokey tail.  My foster mom says  " Xavier is a fluffy bundle of love who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. Whether he’s snuggled in your arms, perched on your shoulders like the little prince he is, or zooming on his exercise wheel, Xavier’s sweet personality shines through. He’s playful, affectionate, and happiest when he’s part of whatever you’re doing. If you’re looking for a companion who loves cuddles as much as adventures, Xavier is your guy!"   I am available for immediate adoption.  I am neutered, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request. Story
Lexie didn’t fail her last home — her food did.Lexie is often labeled “special needs,” but here’s the honest truth:She simply needs to stay on a urinary care diet, and she does beautifully on it.Before coming back to us, Lexie was fed a food that didn’t support her urinary health, which led to recurring UTIs. Once she returned to the shelter and was placed on the proper urinary care food, the issues stopped completely. She has been comfortable, stable, and problem-free ever since. That’s it.That’s the “special need.”Lexie has now been waiting over six months for someone to take a chance on her again — and she’s handled the wait with quiet grace. She’s a little over 2½ years old, confident, calm, and well-mannered. She’s not demanding or clingy, but she genuinely enjoys being near her person. The kind of cat who shares space effortlessly, checks in with you, and appreciates a steady routine. Treats are absolutely her love language.Lexie would thrive in a peaceful, low-key home. Loud, rambunctious dogs or very young children would likely overwhelm her — she prefers calm energy, soft voices, and predictability. In return, she offers steady companionship and an easy presence that makes a home feel settled.Lexie isn’t asking for perfection. She’s asking for consistency. For someone who understands that the right food changed everything — and is willing to keep choosing it for her.If you’ve ever wanted a cat who fits seamlessly into your life, who doesn’t demand the spotlight but stays close all the same, Lexie is still waiting.Apply at EffinghamCountyHumaneSociety.org

Story
Fluff is around 10 years old. She is very sweet, but high anxiety and would do well in a low stress home. She loves to sit on your lap and snuggle and occasionally, chase a toy and bring it back to you. She would not do well in a home with other animals or young kids. She likes to keep to herself but get lots of pets and butt pats from her humans.
