Story
Meet Lucy! 🌟 This lovely 12-year-old girl came to us as an owner surrender due to her aural hematomas, which caused some abnormalities in her ears. Her previous owner was unable to afford the necessary treatment, but we’ve taken care of her needs. Lucy had one ear surgically fixed a few years ago, and we've recently addressed the inflammation in her other ear, so she’s all set for her forever home!Lucy is a sweet and loving lady who takes her time to warm up to new people. Once she does, you’ll see just how affectionate she can be! She’s also four-paw declawed, making her a perfect indoor companion. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little patience and love, Lucy might be the perfect match for you. Come meet her and see if you’re the one to give her the loving home she deserves! 🐾💖✨ Thinking about adopting? ✨You’re welcome to stop by during our open hours to meet the cats and kittens! You can also fill out an application online, and we’ll be happy to set up an appointment time for you.🐾 All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and may not be declawed.🐾 Every cat is spayed/neutered, FeLV tested, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption.

Story
- Very affectionate kitty who enjoys getting petted- Stressed around dogs and other cats (happiest as only pet) This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat's body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat mental stimulation, patience and space when they need it, please consider adopting! They would love to be your sidekick and buddy for life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.61 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org ---- Beautiful and sweet kitty- May be able to co-exist with another cat who stays out of her way and who doesn't really want a friend, but she will likely live her best life as your only pet- She is very affectionate and LOVES to be pet and also frequently chooses to sit on a lap. If not on your lap, she is right next to you and wants to be involved with whatever you are doing! - Will head-bump you frequently to let you know she would like some attention and she makes lots of biscuits and purrs a TON when she gets that affection - Young, noisy or busy children are not a good fit for her, so she's looking for a mature home that's calm and predictable- Will thrive in a calm, quiet household with not a lot going on. She is fine being independent and by herself, but also loves attention and companionship from her humans - Loves laying on the window hammock and watching birds and being on a cat tree - A very playful cat - she loves chasing balls and playing with wand toys - Is a lap cat, as long as it is her idea, but welcomes petting and will meow for attention; and is very good about letting you know when she has had enough (she gets "squirmy" or just jumps down) - Looking for a cat-savvy adopter who can read her body language and give her space and time to unwind when she needs that - Prefers canned, pate food over dry cat food- This cat is currently taking a prescription medication to help with her anxiety, and she takes it well when crushed into her wet food (more information at the ARL)- This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Story
Welcome to Quarry's World! This little boy was born near Laredo but few other facts are known about his early childhood. What we do know is that Quarry is a gentle, sweet boy who loves to be held and petted so that he can run his purr-machine. His foster mom doesn't think he will be a big feline but more compact in size. Quarry will fit into just about any family situation. He makes friends easily and loves everybody he meets. The question is: can you provide the loving furever home for this sweet boy?

God's Dogs Rescue plus Kitties does NOT transport any cats or kittens in or out of the state of Texas. It is too stressful for the cats or kittens to be transported long distances, especially when enclosed in a vehicle containing dogs and puppies. Thank you for your understanding. Hockney's story in pictures: Hockney is a loving, warm kitten who is a little quieter than his brothers. He's very active but just doesn't trumpet his conquests as much as his siblings. The pictures depict Hockney asking for HEB Lone Star crackers, helping himself to the bag, licking his lips for crumbs and then satisfied because he got a cracker! (He takes his crackers to the food bowl for eating.) Please note that he isn't covered in household dust--that is cracker dust! Hockney also likes to sleep on his back--partly because the floor is cool and partly because he loves to have his belly rubbed Hockney deserves his very own furever home where he can love his humans and be loved by them!

It is too stressful for the cats or kittens to be transported long distances, especially when enclosed in a vehicle containing dogs and puppies. Thank you for your understanding. Look at that beautiful face! Cardamom is a unique long-haired solid white boy with piercing blue eyes. His beginnings were humble and humanless. When he first arrived at his foster mom's house, he was terrified. But with a little patience and a lot of love, Cardamom has blossomed into a purring machine. Card, on first meeting, can be very shy but as soon as he realizes he is going to be petted, he melts. He keeps his beautiful coat VERY clean and his tail is best described like a feather duster. Card will definitely require time to acclimate in his new home but his new parent(s) will be richly rewarded with a loyal and sweet fur companion!
