Story
Meet Lucy! 🌟 This lovely 12-year-old girl came to us as an owner surrender due to her aural hematomas, which caused some abnormalities in her ears. Her previous owner was unable to afford the necessary treatment, but we’ve taken care of her needs. Lucy had one ear surgically fixed a few years ago, and we've recently addressed the inflammation in her other ear, so she’s all set for her forever home!Lucy is a sweet and loving lady who takes her time to warm up to new people. Once she does, you’ll see just how affectionate she can be! She’s also four-paw declawed, making her a perfect indoor companion. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little patience and love, Lucy might be the perfect match for you. Come meet her and see if you’re the one to give her the loving home she deserves! 🐾💖✨ Thinking about adopting? ✨You’re welcome to stop by during our open hours to meet the cats and kittens! You can also fill out an application online, and we’ll be happy to set up an appointment time for you.🐾 All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and may not be declawed.🐾 Every cat is spayed/neutered, FeLV tested, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Beautiful and sweet kitty- Stressed around other cats (happiest as only feline) - Young, noisy or busy children are not a good fit for her, so she's looking for a mature home that's calm and predictable- Welcomes petting and will meow for attention; and is very good about letting you know when she has had enough - Looking for a cat-savvy adopter who can read her body language and give her space and time to unwind when she needs that - This cat is currently taking a prescription medication to help with her anxiety (more information at the ARL)- This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat's body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat mental stimulation, patience and space when they need it, please consider adopting! They would love to be your sidekick and buddy for life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Muted Calico Weight: 7.59 Age: 8yrs 1mths 1wks
