Story
This cat is participating in our Camp Purr working cat program, which is designed for feral or semi-feral cats that would be happiest living outside as working cats. Adopters must provide shelter and food/water to these cats year round and need to be willing to work with our Camp Purr team to ensure these cats are acclimated appropriately and humanely to their new environment. Because these cats are familiar with the other cats they are living with currently, we require that all Camp Purr cats be adopted with at least one other Camp Purr cat. The adoption fee for each cat in this program is just $25, and all cats have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. HOW TO ADOPT: These cats are available by appointment only to ensure our team has adequate time to assist you. To get started, please answer a few questions here and a Camp Purr Counselor will email you soon. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 15 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This kitten is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this kitten, please email foster@arl-iowa.org.---Maanya and Maxwell are Bonded Buddies; they'll be adopted as a pair - Loving, attentive, cuddly, and very funny - Loves to sit on your lap and purrs VERY loudly! - A larger cat already and still growing! May have some large-breed cat in her such as Maine Coon - She and her buddy need to be the only pets in their new home - Throughout kittenhood, she and her buddy received veterinary care outside the ARL for various diseases, including a rare gastrointestinal parasite and suspected feline herpesvirus; this kitten will require future veterinary care, including rechecks and ongoing medication, and the foster home has generously offered to cover any medical expenses related to her known medical conditions throughout her life. Today, this kitten appears to have good quality of life with most or all symptoms resolved, but adopters should be aware that she may have future medical challenges (more info at ARL) Primary Color: Orange Secondary Color: White Weight: 9 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.- Stunning black haired beauty with big, dark eyes- Loves to play with cat toys of all kinds especially treat balls - Not a fan of loud noises and being touched on her paws and ears - Has lived with dogs but they can stress her out at times - Has lived with other cats, but will need a slow introduction to any cats in her new home - she is doing well with the other cat in her foster home, but tends to be an "alpha" cat and likes to initiate play, ect. - Has done well with older children, but she may be too much for younger children who can't read her signals- Not a fan of being picked up and held for too long, but enjoys being pet- Enjoys her food and is not shy about letting you know when she is hungry!
