Story
Hi there! I’m Coraline — a petite, gorgeously floofy gray-and-white longhair who absolutely loves being told how beautiful I am. (Go on… I’ll wait.) I’m a delightful mix of sweetheart and sass. I adore being petted and will reward you with my soft purrs and loving eyes. But, like any refined lady, I do have my limits — and when I get a bit overstimulated, I might give you a polite little whack to let you know I need a moment to myself. It’s nothing personal; it’s just part of my charm. When I’m not accepting compliments or soaking up affection, you’ll find me sprawled across the coziest bed, looking elegant and perfectly posed (beauty rest is serious business, after all). I’m also great with other cats and wouldn’t mind sharing my kingdom with some furry friends. If you want a stunning companion with a sprinkle of catitude and a whole lot of heart, come meet me!
You can visit me any day between 1–5 pm (even holidays!) at our sanctuary. I’ll be waiting — probably striking a glamorous pose. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing. If you are interested in adopting Coraline, please message us on Facebook at Furball Farm Cat Sanctuary or email us at FurballFarmCatSanctuary@gmail.com

Name: Kit Kat Age: 2 years Weight: 15 lbs Gender: Male Breed: Domestic Long Hair Coat Length: Long Color: Black Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Child friendly: Yes, older gentle children please Litter Box Trained: Yes Temperament: Sweet Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $190 + tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Kit Kat is a handsome, resilient boy who spent a long time surviving outdoors. We first noticed him last winter, and despite the harsh weather, he somehow made it through on his own. This fall, with another winter approaching, he decided he was ready for a warm, safe home — and we happily welcomed him inside. Since joining us, Kit Kat has shown nothing but sweetness and gratitude. He’s very affectionate, well-mannered, and respectful of the household boundaries. He loves greeting us with friendly chatter, but otherwise he’s a quiet, easygoing companion. Our two resident male cats, however, have not accepted him, even after three months of slow introductions. For his safety, Kit Kat stays in a spare bedroom, and while he handles it well and never cries or scratches at the door, this is not a sustainable long-term setup. The situation is no fault of his — our cats are simply too stressed and reactive. Kit Kat gets along wonderfully with our two dogs and enjoys every visit and bit of attention he gets. He’s ready for a home where he can be part of the family, relax, and finally experience the comfort and companionship he deserves after years of living alone outside. This sweet boy will make a loving addition to a calm, caring home that can give him the life he’s waited so long for.December 7, 2025, 2:20 pm

Story
Stackhouse, born April 2025, is a gorgeous longhair brown tabby boy who loves to be held and petted - once he trusts you. He has always been around other cats, so would do best in a home with more felines. He doesn't mind keeping to himself, but if you are his friend, he will be happy to snuggle up with you and be content. Stackhouse would love to find a quiet, calm Home for the Holidays! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Liesl is a beautiful longhair black girl born late June 2025. She loves playing with her roommates, but will always take a time out to be held and petted by the shelter volunteers and visitors. Liesl has a long gorgeous tail and she moves around with beauty and grace - then off she goes with the zoomies - leaving class in the dust. She would be a wonderful addition to any family, but she would really love another cat in her new home. Liesl hopes she will find a new family in time to be Home for the Holidays! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Toes and his best friend Queen Bea were abandoned by their owner - left behind in an apartment. Toes was born in October 2020 and is a wonderful, beautiful, loving medium hair tuxedo boy. He is in general population in the cat room here and gets along pretty well with everyone in spite of being on of the "new kids" on the block. Toes would love to get back to being a house cat and having a family of his own to love and would like a home with another cat in residence. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Jenny was part of an unwanted litter that we took in after spaying the mother. Jenny and her siblings were born late July 2025 and are all ready for adoption. Jenny is sweet and playful and likes to be held and petted. She's always been around her siblings and would like to have another feline in the home - her current roommates would be her first choice if you are willing to take more than one. She is a lovely girl and is hoping with her whole heart that she will be lucky enough to be able to go Home for the Holidays! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped.
