Story
Hello! I am Memphis. I tried to trick the staff into thinking I was nothing more than a grumpy, grouchy old fella...but as hard as I tried to pretend my heart was cold and made of stone...they got the best of me! Truly the best! I am actually very sweet and loving. I enjoy pets and will roll all around when I`m very happy. I am an older fella, but you will find I am calm and laidback. Because I am an older fella, I would prefer a quiet home without kids, but older teens would be fine. I had a rough start before coming here and I dream of settling down somewhere I can always be warm, safe, and surrounded by love. Memphis is currently Foster to Adopt while we take care of his teeth! Come meet him today! The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial feline distemper combination vaccination- first deworming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption Cost: $50.00FELV/FIV testing can be done for additional $35.00. Highly encouraged for multi-cat households.

Story
It's kitten season at Animal Friends! This is one of the busiest and most fun times at the shelter - for staff, volunteers and you! Most of our kittens have been living in foster homes, learning how to play with others and interacting with people. They have been given all their age-appropriate vaccines, have been microchipped and have been either spayed or neutered. These little bundles of joy are ready and waiting for loving homes! Stop by Animal Friends today and take one - or two - home today! When you adopt two animals from Animal Friends, you get twice the amount of love for one adoption donation! Ask our Adoption Counselors about the benefits of adopting two cats.

- NOW YOU DID IT! You found a cat rescue that’s unique and fun to visit too! We do some really BIG things for the community cats in Pittsburgh. It is an awesome place to come and see if your next kitty cat is here, patiently waiting for you. The big named shelters no longer do combo testing, so if you have another cat in the home, please consider your local small rescue. You"ll want to look into a combo tested cat-to keep your cat from unknowingly being exposed to a disease. The rescue is on the 2nd & 3rd floors of my big Pittsburgh home (I reside on the 1st floor). Set up an appointment to come and visit by calling or text FAON @ 412-863-0064. I will show you all the cats and then you/yours can go around and visit with them. Once the adults are vetted and tested/vaccinated- we let them free roam. There is a large, outside CAT E O where some enjoy to layout outside. There is also plenty of room inside for a good cat nap .All the cats are SPAYED/NEUTERED, dewormed, given Capstar for fleas, have at least one/two FVRCP vaccines, rabies, ear mite treated (if needed), combo tested for FeLV & FIV, and microchipped. All included in the adoption fee. Be sure to look around, spend time with them. We always have cats in a wide variety of age/personalities. Don't forget to visit the one in the corner, those cats need a chance and will blossom in a calmer environment (and are often the best cats). “Feel their soul” if you would and see if it pairs to yours. If you fall in love here, great. If not, no hard feelings. Most people say it was hard to choose. We changed the cat’s life by rescuing them. Now they need rescued one last time…..could you be that person? We hope so. The cats here were rescued from outside, neglect, poverty, or were left somewhere purposely or just needed to be found. This is really an AMAZING process. Come see why Save Our Strays has adopted out over 1000 cats in 4.5 years. We use some of our profits to TNR (trap, neuter, release) countless strays that are too unsocial for a home but desperately need altered. By spay and neutering them, they can live a healthier life & we help decrease the number of outside domestic cats. Adopting from Save Our Strays helps to support that. A little about me and SOS. I rescue and live with the cats, so I am very familiar with them and their background. I have some amazing women that volunteer here and one main volunteer Ms Chris. They help to make this drastic change in the cat’s life possible. We do all that we can here for the cats. Often, we are complimented on how clean everything is. We use stainless steel litter pans and bowls, that are disinfected daily. We feed Purina Pro Plan (kitten)and a canned breakfast with a probiotic. If you have done the long cat application and then no one gets back to you, or the cats already adopted by the time they do, then yinz should check us out. We have same day adoptions. I do not have a long application process. I ask that you are allowed to have a cat where you live and are financially able to afford their care. I ask that you not declaw that cat and if they get sick take them to the doctor. Give the cat time to slowly adjust, one last time to their new environment, so it’s a pleasant experience for all.-

Feed them a Churu or two, they love company. CHAMP in a real CHAMP, at 6/7 years old-he lived IDK how long with 47 cats and four adults in a single-wide trailer. Two of the adults worked-but mentally unwell. But still this dude is like BYEEEEEE. He likes being away from that, clean and flea free (instead of care free lol). He is good with the other cats and is inquisitive on what is going on. He is a volunteer favorite. Very outgoing but new to being out of that environment and here. CHAMP would LOVE to find a family or person to love him. He has cute ear wisps and a white spot on his chest. Story
Prepare to be enchanted by Loki, the god of mischief... well, sort of! This 1-year-old domestic longhair may not be causing cosmic chaos, but he does have a mysterious side. Originally found as a stray back in 2023, Loki recently returned after feeling a bit overwhelmed by the unpredictable energy of young kids. True to his namesake, Loki is a bit elusive at first and takes time to warm up to new people. But once he trusts you, his sweet side will shine. He's on the lookout for a quiet, kid-free kingdom where he can reign in peace. If you've got the patience to unlock his heart and understand the ways of a shy trickster, Loki will reward you with loyal companionship. Ready to welcome a little mischief into your life? Loki's waiting!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Spicy, AKA Yoda Spicy is a gorgeous 5 mo white male cat with blue or hazel eyes, depending upon his mood. He is deaf, which makes him a bit shy upon first meeting. He is actually a huge cuddlebug, known to habitually fall asleep, nestled in your arms, head tucked into your elbow. He loves having his head slowly stroked, or his soft, sleek muscular body. He is the "purr-fect foil to his rowdy bestie & condo-mate, Dory, whose only off-button is sleep! The 2 of them tussle, romp, play, groom, & snuggle together. Spicy can be adopted alone, but would do best with a companion cat. His preference would be Dory for that role (hint, hint, nudge, nudge ) God's Dogs Rescue plus Kitties does NOT transport any cats or kittens in or out of the state of Texas. It is too stressful for the cats or kittens to be transported long distances, especially when enclosed in a vehicle containing dogs and puppies. Thank you for your understanding. ONLY AVAILABLE IN TEXAS This cat can only be adopted in the state of Texas and has an adoption fee of $150.

Story
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well...behold Loofah! She's an absolutely stunning mama cat with so much variety and color in her fur. Though gorgeous, Loofah's life started out rough. She was a feral street cat living in an abandoned car when she gave birth to four kittens. Loofah did an amazing job taking care of and feeding her kittens until about a year ago when she and her litter were rescued from the streets and put into foster care. Her and her kittens were housed in a bathroom and all her kittens loved snuggling up to her for warmth. Loofah is looking for a forever home with patient adopters. She is going to take a little bit of time to warm up. When she was rescued she was feral and impossible to touch. After a year in foster care however, she is finally starting to come out of her shell. She LOVES being pet now. If she sees you coming she will put her butt in the air hoping for pets. While you brush and scratch her she will rub her head and face all over you while purring up a storm. She does not like being picked up yet and isn't super playful, but we're confident with the right amount of patience and love, those things are in her future. Loofah's favorite pastime is to sit and look out an open window. She feels safest when there's a safe place to hide too in case she gets a little spooked. Loofah loves Churu and treats and will lick them right off your fingers! As of right now, she still has a little bit of spice in her so she's probably best in a home without small kids. She is curious about and likes other cats. She gets along with the other cats in the house but her foster family suspects she'd probably be best with maybe only one other chill cat or by herself. Loofah is around 2.5 years old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and recently had a dental. If you have a fondness for cats that started out with rough lives and have the patience to let Loofah open up on her own time, then she might be the cat for you... please apply today!
